Can someone please explain to me what kind of ride this is? I last was at WDW in August and it was not open at the time..

You sit in clam shells similar to the Doombuggies at Haunted Mansion. The ride takes you side ways where you see various screens in an ocean setting with Nemo's Dad, Mr. Ray's class, etc. all looking for Nemo who is playing a little hide 'n seek. The coolest part of the ride is when you meet up with Crush on the EAC then you see the real water tanks with a video of the Nemo gang appearing to swim around.

I was so looking forward to this ride as I love the movie. If you had not seen the movie, you would be totally confused. If you had seen the movie, you would be totally disappointed. It just did not get you involved and only flashed some pictures thru the aquarium. My 2-year old grandson was afraid of the noise. The clam shells were pretty though.

We just came home yesterday and had the pleasure of riding this beautifully done ride twice. The third and last time we were surrounded by thoughtless :confused3 people taking flash pictures, but that is another post! We have seen the movie and the attraction was by no means a disappointment for us, quite the opposite. Perfect really, just lovely! The ride waiting line area is very nicely done too.

I thought it was mildly disappointing, but not a bad ride - just not what I was expecting. I thought that the queue and the characters swimming around in the actual water tanks at the end were very cool. But I think, after reading some of the press releases I was expecting more of a storyline.

Even though my expectations were a little high, it is a ride I'd do again if someone else in the group wanted to see it and the line wasn't that long.

We enjoyed the ride and DS was totally enthralled by it. He loved looking for the fish and seeing where they would be next. We got to ride it a few times in a row since he liked it so much.

We enjoyed it and look forward to taking 2.5 yr old DGD; it wasn't anything exciting but very cute. The queue area is pretty cool.

Here's my order of preference in FW attractions:

Soarin'
Turtle Talk
Ellen's Energy Adv.
Nemo Clamshells
*Cranium Command
*Making of Me
Test Track
Mission Space
Spaceship Earth
JII
HISTA
Living with the Land
*Body Wars

(*only available thru New Years Day 2007)

Just pray that the Nemo ride doesn't break down while you are on it. Five minutes of listening to "Where's Nemo?" will make you start singing It's A Small World to maintain your sanity. ;)

We rode last week and thought it was really cool. I thought the area you walk through (where you wait in line) was so beautiful! My girls (3.5 and 2.5) loved it and wanted to do it again. I think it's really a nice ride. Enjoy!

It's well done, tech-wise. The queue is frustrating (at least for us first-timers) because you have no idea where you're going. The best thing about having done it last Saturday, is that we don't have to do it again. :teeth:

We also rode Living with the Land for the first time (hey, it was dead and we were still waiting on our 6-hour FP window on Soarin' to come open). I liked this much better than Nemo.

I was also vaguely disappointed. Though I'm not really sure what I expected? I'm confident that my DD2½ will enjoy it when we take her in February. I got yelled at by a CM for snapping a photo of the ride vehicle just before boarding it. I hadn't planned on taking any further pictures of course.

We just got back from our trip at the end of November. In my previous trip (June 2005) the Nemo ride didn't exist yet (they still had the simulated elevator experience). In the meantime, I hadn't kept up on EPCOT developments and hadn't heard about this ride being built.

On this recent trip, while walking into the Seas I was still expecting the faux elevator. Upon seeing the clamshells, however, I was pleasantly surprised. I'm a big fan of dark rides, and I think EPCOT could use more of them (in light of losing Horizons and World of Motion). I thought the technology was great (especially at the end and on the long screen where you see Crush and the other turtles). Basically, going in with no expectations, I had no room for disappointment.

Oh, yay! I forgot this ride was going to be opening! I'll be there on Saturday, and can't wait to check it out. I too am a fan of the slow-moving dark rides, and am glad to see that Epcot got one back!

About how long of a ride is it?

Its a pretty good length.
I'd say about the same time-frame as Winnie the Pooh at MK.

But the Nemo QUEUE may be about as long as the one to Soarin' or Space Mountain. It wriggles back and forth for a LONG way! (But its nice and dark, with good theming.)
