Is going to Nemo on a monday as soon as the park opens a good idea?
I've read that the ONLY time to go without a very long wait is during the parade. Just wondering if anyone has went there first thing in the morning

From your other posts it seems like you are reading the Unofficial Guide to DLR. While respected for WDW, they are not so much at DLR. Most of us here have concluded the info on this forum is much better than the UG.

So the answer is...the UG information on Nemo Subs is outdated like much of the information in printed guides. This info on Nemo is at least 3 years old if not 4.

Nemo can be ridden with fairly short lines usually in the morning for the first hour and sometimes two. And usually in the evenings after say 8PM. Lines might be 15-20 minutes at night because it is such a slow loader.

I would say that if FNSV is a priority for you, Monday morning is not a bad idea. Monday is not a MM day, so you would not be using a large chunk of your MM time on it. You could head straight for TL, grab a SM or ST FP, then check the FNSV line. If the wait is not short, do some other TL rides and come back at a better time.

GREAT!

I just got finished reading the UG as well. They pretty much say the only way to ride NEMO is surrounding Parade and Fireworks times.
I'm glad to know I won't be locked into scheduling in this ride at those times.

Based on my history with Nemo, hydroguy is right. I have always ridden in the morning, usually right around the time they open and never waited. Sometimes when we get off the monorail from the hotel, we just hit that first thing.

OK so if i go straight to Nemo and send my runner to get FP for star wars then i should be good. and hopefully that wouldn't screw me with wait times on Buzz, haunted mansion, pirates, and jungle cruise...(that is my schedule in that order) with the exception of retrieving thunder mt FP some where in the middle too.

If you're going to start at Nemo first thing in the morning, none of the others of those should have very long lines if you do them right away. In order to save some backtracking, you could do: Nemo, then Buzz, then Jungle Cruise, Pirates, then HM. Like I said, if you're there at rope drop, none of those should have significant lines, even in the summer.

If you walk up Main Street and make a right turn into Tomorrowland, you will walk right past Star Tours on your way to Nemo. So you won't need a runner to get the FPs for Star Tours. As you're walking through TL, the ST FP machines are on the left side (the Buzz Lightyear side).

Someone will correct me if I'm mistaken, but usually FPs for BTMRR don't need to be retrieved very early. It seems that the Return Time for BTMRR is usually 40 minutes after you get the FPs, throughout most of the day.

Just putting this out there as a suggestion: If you're thinking about riding Splash Mtn, then it's usually better to get the FPs for Splash Mtn before BTMRR.

i plan on doing matter during MM. dont i have to wait till the normal park hours to get the FP for splash mt?

Here is another tip often missed by others - Nemo takes a long time to ride. It is slow to load and the ride length is maybe 10 minutes. Except for 2007 when it first opened, it is not worth it to ride Nemo during MM as it can take most of the hour on that one ride.

What does that mean? It is usually best to not ride Nemo during MM or first thing on a non-MM day. If you have lots of days at DLR and an MM to spare (because you are staying onsite) then, sure, do it during MM. But if your time is limited I think it is best to save Nemo for 30-60 minutes (maybe 90 minutes) after park opening. I would get your ST FPs, then maybe ride the Astro Orbiter or Buzz, keep an eye on Nemo to see if it does fill up very fast that morning, and play it by ear based on what you see. Be aware that since the ride loads so slowly, even a line which looks relatively short can take a long time. I pay attention to where the end of the line is with respect to the "10 or 15 minute wait from here" signs. :teacher:

BTMRR FPs are readily availably until the evening even during busy summer months. No need to rush to get BTMRR FPs.

That's right, the FP machines open at the start of the normal park hours.

I guess I'm confused. I thought you were visiting Nemo on a Monday. (The Magic Mornings are Tues., Thurs., Sat., & Sun.)

Monday, June 18:

8:00am
Get FPs for Star Tours while walking to Finding Nemo
Finding Nemo
Buzz
FP Runner walks to Splash for FPs (if you're not getting FPs for Space Mtn)
HM
Pirates
JC
FP Runner gets FPs for BTMRR (if you're not getting FPs for Indiana Jones)

Anyway, that's what I thought you were talking about. :goodvibes

Edited to Add: I wrote this before seeing HydroGuy's posts. I was just providing an option, and I'm not disagreeing one way or the other. :)

I see what you guys did there. :earsboy:

Hydroguy you are so awesome!! I forgot about Nemo being so slow....

We've ridden it once at opening, thought we scored with no line, and park was pretty empty, got off and it was empty no more :)

We've found the best time to ride is later at night.
