Nemo line recently??

Hi -

Okay, so now I have to ask, we are going the second week of Sept. (only weekdays) and I am hoping Nemo is not going to be such a big issue.

We aren't morning people and even with good intentions, I really doubt we will use EE (staying onsite). I was hoping to try Nemo in the later part of the day, maybe during the parade - which is around 6:30 before the park closes at 8pm. Is that a good idea or another possibility: should we get in line right before the park closes? Any thoughts?

Well, nobody knows what the lines will be like during the off season considering Nemo has only been open during busy summer season. But if I had to guess, I'd say the line would be around an hour right before the park closed.

It's already starting to slow down a bit, but it still fluctuates. It was 45 minutes on Friday afternoon, but Friday night at about 10:00, it looked like it was 60-90 minutes.

Can you FastPass Nemo?

No

Well really it was only one ride.... We got in line at 10:52 on Thursday night... were on the ride exactly one hour later and didn't get off the ride until 12:06 AM on Friday 8/24........ So we were on it for two days!!! :rotfl2:
The line was longer throughout the day... I knew we would not make it early Friday AM to try for a shorter line so the kids and I stayed up later than planned and did it that day. The wait was the same as about one month ago when we also rode it but that was mid-day. I think Disney posts longer wait times than are true at the que off Main St. This may discourage some people from going on it... The wait time at Nemo though was accurate!

We asked about viewing the Nemo via the alternate room as mentioned by a few other DIS'ers. I told the cast member I was ver nervous of small encose spaces and was told there was still a way I could see Nemo without getting on a sub. He looked at me like I was crazy and said nothing else was available other than getting on the subs. I knew that was not true based on these boards but didn't really care to push it further. Has anyone else had a hard time viewing in this other room?

Still if you can get to the parks at opening go for it. I not plan at least a 60 minute wait. Once all the schools in So. CA are back in school - first week after Labor Day it should calm down a bit.... in my opinion.

If it is more then 30 mins I bet my kids won't want to ride it at all! I guess from the reviews I won't be missing much. Hey , more people in line for Nemo ....less on the other rides :thumbsup2

DD (she works on this ride) says the lines on weekends are almost always about 2 hours and weekdays 60-90 minutes. It is true that after Labor Day, the crowds will diminish and so will the lines. However, weekends will continue to be at least an hour wait. I think the ride is very well done, but not worth more than an hour wait time. Hopefully you will be able to ride it with a minimal wait time.;)

I thought this way at first, but then changed my mind after our trip in late June. This was only two weeks after Nemo opened, and the lines to enter DL on the EE and non-EE mornings were huge. But the rush to Nemo was much more intense on non-EE mornings. I decided that we could Fantasyland first thing on a non-EE morning and it would be best to use our one EE on Nemo. After doing that, I definitely concluded that was best. We got to the DL gates 40 minutes early for EE (instead of our normal 20-30 minutes early). If you try to do Nemo first thing on a non-EE day, you should get to the gates 45-50 minutes early.

Once we get past Labor Day and park hours shorten and summer high season ends for awhile, I suspect Nemo demand will gradually reduce and the above advice will no longer be relevant - except maybe on weekends. Once holiday season picks up, I expect the advice to be relevant again.

We did the same thing. We only had one EE day and we did use it for Nemo (this was the same week Nemo opened). But this was because on Non-EE days EVERYONE rushed over to Nemo and Fantasyland was as empty as a EE day! This was every Non-EE day too. So I didn't feel bad about "wasting" our EE day on Nemo, since we already enjoyed FL for a few mornings just as good!
