Nelnet Issues???

Anyone have nelnet or other student loans that can answer a question? Putting aside all my other issues with them....I have made 36 consecutive payments and should, according to their website now qualify for borrower benefits. Either an interest rate or principle balance reduction.

I called in to get the added to my loan and they are saying I don't qualify. They said my loans were ineligible at the time they were taken out and will give me no other information. All my loans are federal stafford loans with a fixed interest rate. Some are subsidized and some unsubsidized. Now that I'm looking at my account closer I see that I'm not even getting the .25% reduction for their auto pay!!!! Again they said my loans don't qualify?!?!?

Anyone heard of this?

My student loans were switched to Nelnet a little over a year ago (just happened, I certainly did not want it), and I have had numerous issues with them since. I have emailed, called, chatted and finally got this round of issues fixed, which took them forever and cost me extra money while they figured out what was wrong. The error was on their part but they refused to admit.
Last year the issue took three long months to resolve, they kept claiming they didn't have paperwork I submitted. They did though and miraculously "found" it eventually.

I wish I had some great wisdom to fix your issue. Be persistent! Don't let it go if you are correct. They seem very disorganized.

Can you explain this to me? I have nelnet and I don't know anything about this!

I had set up an autopay with an extra amount to be paid each month too. After a while, for some reason every month the amount of the extra payment varied. I called every month for several months and no one could ever figure out why the entire fixed extra amount was not being applied, and everything was set up properly and looked good on their end. I used to just do a one-time payment each month to make up for it. But it was a nuisance and lessened my confidence in nelnet.
