Negative responses about taking my 22 month old

I took my kids to Disneyland for the first time when they were 3 yrs old and 15 months, then we went again the following year when they were 4 and 25 months. We had a great time both times!

I always tell people when I get those comments (as I am still getting them as we plan our first trip to Disneyworld next month and they are 5 and 3) that my kids will probably not remember their first few Christmases or birthdays BUT I will! I still celebrate many moments of my children's lives that they might not remember. As soon as I say about the first Christmases etc they usually pause for a moment and stop talking.

It is only a small moment when it will be so magical for little ones. Once they are older it becomes magically for different reasons, one is not better than the other, simply different.

I was so glad that we took them as little as they were and I am so glad that we are planning another trip. Those moments in time are saved forever in my mind and in pictures/videos.

I wish you a great time!

My first trip was when I was 24 months old, and I remember a lot of it. Don't listen to those people who say that he won't remember it.. he actually might :)

I have taken my kids since they were 6th months old and they will be 6 soon. I love watching them and how excited they get by the different things. The parades and shows, rides and characters. Even if they won't remember (which whose to say for sure at 22 months they won't remember something, I have one that does) you will have memories of how much fun it was for all of you. Enjoy your trip!

You know it's really funny that people don't think there's anything wrong with dragging their very young kids to the beach or an amusement park or some other vacation destination where their kids are going to sit confined to their stollers (or under an umbrella) most of the vacation. YET, they think your kids shouldn't go to Disney where they can get out of their stollers and participate! Yeah, I haven't figured that one out either.

We've been taking my son since he was 13 months old and he went 6 times before he turned 5 (it's been over a year since our last trip and we're way overdue but we are getting a mini-fix at HHI in May). Our new Princess's first trip will be about the 13-14 month range also. We have pics of our son touching every character's nose on that first trip. And also a Photopass photo of Mickey holding him! Where else but the world!

Forget the nay-sayers and go enjoy your time with your kids!
