NEG. ding on my Credit Report.... HELP...

I had a Best Buy Credit card and purchased a laptop on it with the no interest for however many months. The bill didn't come and I remembered the due date a couple months after it reallly was DUE!!


Come to find out, they were mailing my bill to the wrong address. I got it straightened out. They took the late fee off and I paid it in full. Well, now it is showing as the ONE negative thing on my credit report.

Am I out of luck? I thought they would get that taken care of too. PLEASE help me

One negative isn't a deal breaker. Just monitor your credit to see how many points you drop, it won't be that much since it was a fairly small amount and you did pay it off. If it was still in default then you would have a problem.

Also don't freak out if you don't plan on making any major purchases in the next few months.

Ask the finance company to remove the negative entry from your credit report.
