For those of you that work 8-5, what do you do to earn extra $$$$? I am wanting to pay off most of our small monthly notes and was wondering if there is something I could do that would allow me to pay them off.

Alot of people sell stuff on ebay. There are also other auction sites that don't charge a fee. I hope this helps! :earsgirl:

I signed on as a distributor for Slumber Parties - I actually make more money doing that than my FT job!! Check into the party plans you might want to do - it doesn't take away from your home time too much since you have control of when you work.

How do you get a job taking calls for infomercials?

And what is "Slumber Parties"?

:confused3

I'd like to know also how you went about doing the infomercial thing and does it pay half way decent?

I'm not able to do it right now with my DH's schedule, but some things I've done to earn extra money in the past are: working second shift retail, this especially works well at 24 hours stores like Walmart, Meijer, and grocery stores. If you feel safe doing it a gas station is another option. Or you could babysit in your home part time, like for parents who want to go out in the evening. Some of my friends have had luck selling Avon, but I've never tried it because I figured I'd end up being my best customer  .

I would also like some info on the infomercial calls. That sounds like it could work for me.

The best sites to check out are www.wahm.com (on the left hand side click the link to message boards) and www.workplacelikehome.com .
They are both message boards like to the Dis focused on work at home opportunities. I discovered these boards and did much research and applied to one of the companies from there.

Basically, I connect to their site and the calls and as well as the scripts for the calls are routed to me that way.

Hope this helps some of you.

would you mind pming me with the company that you work for so I
may see if I qualify or maybe apply too.
I did go to the boards you said, but they are a real maze of forums
and I'm not sure which one you were refering to as to the infomercials
work at home Companies.

Please help me on this as I am desperate for some honest at home work.
I have a very good telephone voice and manners and love to work the
phones so this would be like a golden job for me.
Please and thanking you in advance.

I work for workathomeagent. I take phone calls for infomercials and HSN, but they also take phone calls for Office Depot and a couple of others. They offer all of the training and software to download on their website. They also conduct a background check before you can select your hours. They have hours anytime of the day or night. They pay per/talk minute and it can vary from hour to hour and from company to company.

sandy6879, what is Slumber Parties. Sounds like something that hasn't made it to our area and it might be something to start. TIA

Something I thought of is babysitting for a weekend. There are people that do not have relatives to leave their little darlings with and want to get away for a few days together, just mommy and daddy. You have to be a special person for this though and really enjoy kids. If you have children of your own about the same age, it really isn't that much work, except for cooking, ect. Sometimes they might want you to go to their house though. Just thought I'd mention it.

Not that it's much, but I do a few surveys a month for extra money. It's 20-30 bucks extra/month. Doesn't seem like a lot, but I look at it about an $300-400/year that I didn't have before. Lots of gas fillups :)

if you have training or expertese in a particular software consider putting up flyers and offer tutoring in it. our neighbor paid my husband $50 for each hour session to learn a couple of different programs. it was the same rate comp usa charged, but instead of being in a classroom with a bunch of other people, she was able to learn one on one on her own p.c. (and had a person to call if she had a follow up question).
