So here's the story...I'm a very anxious flier on a good day...now with the impending threat of war, I'm a basket case...and we leave Friday for WDW. I've got my Xanax, done my relaxation exercises, but the closer it gets.... OY!!!

I know I should be grateful to even be going when so many of our bravest servicemen and women are putting their lives on the line for our country. God Bless them all!

So I guess what I'm asking is whether or not anyone else would be scared about traveling right now. Comments? Suggestions?

Thanks!

Got a trip to DC planned to watch figure skating March 25th. Can't wait.

Would I be a "little" anxious? Sure I would but it wouldn't stop me from going. I went over Presidents' week when we had just gone to orange on the terror alert. I was nervous before but when then day came I was fine. Have a great trip--I know you will!!

I wouldn't be scared to fly now. The only thing that may happen is some last minute schedule changes which is similar to what happened during the Gulf War.. Flying is still the safest mode of transportation. Just relax and enjoy your trip! :D

kristielee,
I'm a nervous flyer, and the Iraq situation really doesn't bother me. I feel that the airlines are safer than ever. I'm more worried about turbulence and the sensations I feel on the plane. That's why I, too, have my Xanax ready. And as another poster said, there may be schedule changes, and that worries me more than terrorism. You're going to have a wonderful flight and vacation!

We leave this Monday:bounce: :Pinkbounc and I'm not a very good airline passenger either but I am going and I will just keep thinking of what's at the other end of my flight! Sunshine and warm blue skies.;)

Good luck to you and I hope you have a great vacation!!! :sunny:

Flying is great and statistically very safe. By no means do I mean to be-little those that fear flying. My wife is a fearful flyer and I see what she goes through. Now this may not work for everone but I've found that if you have a window seat and see your relative position to the ground, it "sometimes" acts as a calming measure. I also find looking at the cloud formations is extremely relaxing. If that doesn't work, think about the great adventure that lies just a few hours ahead. Have a magical time!

Not within the US and Canada, or much of Latin America. Not to most of Western Europe (not all). Not to some of the Asian Pacific rim area. I wouldn't travel to Africa or the Middle East.

Not afraid one bit. I remember after 9/11, my only concern were the changes in the flight schedule. I wasn't worried about events over which I had no control. HAVE FUN!!

In the past 5 weeks, I flew to WDW and on a business trip to Hartford while we were under "orange alert". I didn't think twice about it.

Many thanks, dear friends. I've just gotta take a deep breath and think of having dinner with Mickey and seeing the joy in my kids faces when we get there. (But it sure is the looooooongest 3 hours! LOL)

Thanks Again!

Kristie
