Need your prayers and good thoughts for Kevin

Kevin again lots of :grouphug: :grouphug:

Waiting is terrible but as of this time tomorrow you probably are back home.

And we have a deal.......

Kevin - heres a big squeezy cuddle from me :grouphug:

You have a lot of folk rooting for you - so take care of yourself and let John take care of you - this time tomorrow you will be on the road to recovery

:grouphug: for John too

Again, you are in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. DH went through similar situation I described before. I know how it can be so stressful. We were really afraid and he was out of work for 3 weeks, which I thought might be trying:rotfl: but I was so worried for him I didn't have time for him to get on my nerves. He is on the mend and doing much better. Sounds like you are getting good care. Take it easy. My prayers are with you.

Best of luck tomorrow Kevin...you will do well -- don;t worry too much though I KNOW THAT IS EASIER SAID THEN DONE..My aunt had the same thing and they fixed her eye wonderfully , and she is fine now with perfect sight in the eye too....just keep postive thoughts....
Karen

Kevin, good luck tomorrow. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you will have a speedy recovery.

Please keep us updated on how you are doing.

Dear Kevin,

Prayers and good wishes and pixie dust to you and your doctors. :)

Take full advantage of your support group. Maybe you can get some chocolate delivered to you.....

I work with someone who had a partially detached retina, and she is fine now, after her surgery.

I'm glad you pushed the issue so they found the problem. :grouphug:

I'm so glad you have John as support, it goes without saying you have all of ours as well.
I'll be sending good thoughts your way, I know it's all going to work out good :grouphug:

Hi folks.

I originally asked that Pete keep this information to himself, but I quickly realized that I needed all of the good wishes I could get.

I have been having issues with my left eye since the last cataract surgery in November. It just didnt heal like the first eye.

I went to my eye dr yesterday for a series of tests on my retina and was told everything looked great and that there were no problems. I was eleated but knew that there was something wrong.

After describing my symptoms again, the dr started looking for other things and realized that my retina was detached or detaching. I'm told that this was difficult to see / diagnose due to where it's happening.

I was sent to a retina specialist poked and prodded and realized rhe severity of the issue. I'm scheduled for retina surgery and a vitrectomy (sp). I'm having something called a buckle put around my eye in order to support the retina while it reattaches. I'm not even sure what that means, but I hole it matches my crocs.

I will be having surgery tomorrow morning and am waiting to hear when and where I need to go for bloodwork today.

I cant begin to tell you what y'all mean to me and how much I appreciate the good wishes and prayers.

I'm a bit of an emotional mess today but thank God for John. He's unbelievable support and stability. I'm a lucky, lucky guy.

Thank you all again and I will keep you all posted.

Kevin

Oh no. :guilty: I will be thinking of you Kevin and praying for a good recovery.

My mom had a detached retina after cataract surgery and also had emergency surgery. Everything turned out well and she is fine now, but the weeks after the surgery were awful. I'm so glad Kevin has John to take care of him.

So glad you kept pursuing - it would have been so easy to walk away saying "well, they said it was OK...."

Still sending positive and healing thoughts your way....

Kevin, you have lots of friends in Florida (like the Dis Team), and someone that supports you no matter what (John). Plus you have your thousands friends on the Dis that will pray and think of you! pixiedust: I wish you a quick healing!!
Thanks Pete and Kevin for the update, and keep us update specially for the surgery!

:grouphug: We love ya Kevin! :grouphug: You will be constantly in our thoughts for the next 48 hours. God Bless.

Yikes Kevin! I am sure this is very scary for you, and I hope everything goes well and you can recover quickly. Good thing you have John and so many caring people around you- I'll keep you in my thoughts!

Kevin and John - you'll be in our family's thoughts as you go through this. You'll be fine in the end. Just keep your spirits high and you'll get through this fine!:grouphug:

Take care. One day at a time!:thumbsup2

Kevin, you are in good hands I am sure and John is taking excellent care of you I know. And you have all of us sending you all sorts of positive energy/prayers/pixie dust. How could there be anything but a positive outcome. Just think, in 103 days you will be on one little ship in the middle of the Caribbean with many of us all around you... that was meant to sound way more comforting that it came out. Don't want to scare you away from the cruise.

You have all of our love coming your way.

Just make sure they give you a vitrectomy and not a vasectomy!!! Good luck tomorrow.
