Hi ya'll. I need help LOL. For Christmas this year we are redoing Remy's room as one of her gifts (ok..more like almost all her gifts LOL). I have decided to do a Parisian Elegance theme centered around pink (I don't want to have to repaint). This is what I have come up with so far:

The Bedding

I also thought I would do a white washed/pale pink crackle finish on the dresser I am going to buy (solid wood so the girls won't break this one). And maybe make some wooden signs with phrases like Bonjour, Joie De Vivre and maybe Bienvenue for her door (same crackle finish as the dresser on them). I need an idea on how to hide her toys (her current toybox won't match so it will be relocated to the playroom for Holly). Does anyone have any other ideas on things I can do? Also any ideas on what to search to find ideas LOL? I appreciate any and all help on this. After the hectic year we've had I want to do this right, KWIM?

I don't have any ideas on toy storage (sorry!), but I do want to say that the bedding and pillows are adorable! Where did you find it? Good luck with ideas and let us know what you decide on! :)

Thanks! Bombaykids.com is where I am getting the bedding. I must have looked thru hundreds of sites before finding "the one". I have to start with the bedding and decorate around that LOL.

What about some black and white photos, framed in black, maybe hung by a pink ribbon, of Parisian landmarks?

How about for toy storage, a "steamer trunk" with French travel stickers?

For the toy box it might look neat if you could find an old trunk or hope chest type thing and paint it the same as the dresser.

This is on the Bombay Kids site, so I'm sure you have already seen it, but I think a table and chairs like this is a great idea! You could just get the table and 2 chairs or add the bench too.

This is what I was going to suggest. You can try discount stores like Mashalls or T-JMaxx for this. My sister just bought two huge wooden chests for $99 each at Mace's and made window seats out of them for her girls. She did the crackle finish on them and I made them cushions with foam and fabric from JoAnn's. These were huge 50" wide by 24" deep and I'm not sure how high, but they were a great buy for the money and they look beautiful once they were crackled.

Hat Boxes are very French "Coutour" and can provide storage for smaller items, and the stack them, I like the steamer trunk idea, just watch the lid from slamming down! Maybe a chandelier light hanging above the bed? You could do the same crackle finish on a book case and then have fabric that is attached to the front to hide things,,,use lined baskets to hold the toys or buy cubes and cover those. Just make sure things are anchored well so they don't tumble if climbed on etc. I also see a French Parasol in there somewhere....and maybe some white Christmas size lights that she can turn on at night...y'know, Paris, the city of lights?

Thinking the same thing.

Another idea for the room would be some shadow boxes or shelves to display those old glass perfume bottles. I always thought they were neat. I bet eBay would have lots to choose from.

I recently bought an Eiffel Tower lamp at target that I love. They have other stuff too at:

How 'bout some french phrases painted on the walls - or the names of places in France like Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Champs Elysee, Arc de Triomphe, etc.

Get a cheap picture book or calendar with either paris pix in it or impressionist art such as Monet, Manet, etc. Or if you have a color printer, you could pull up stuff on the internet. Use those pix to frame for the room.

I was a french major - I wish my parents had thought of something so cool!
