I need silly useless facts and trivia for my older DSis. It's a long story but it will help save her from a ton of headache. Stuff like:

The Panda is actually a giant raccoon...

or,

Thomas Edison was known to be an avid "Fletcherist" (one who believes in chewing his food well).

Come on my silly DIS friends, Help a gal out!

Le Pétomane was the stage name of the French professional farter and entertainer Joseph Pujol (June 1, 1857 - 1945). He was famous for his remarkable control of the abdominal muscles, which enabled him to fart at will. His stage name combines the French verb péter, "to fart" with the -mane, "-maniac" suffix, which translates to "the fart maniac". The profession is also referred to as "flatulist," "farteur", or "fartiste"

Pinocchio is Italian for "pine head."

In the last 4000 years, no new animals have been domesticated

It is impossible to lick your elbow.

Mosquitoes have 47 teeth

Most lipstick is partailly made of fish scales

Ever noticed you see every nut except the cashew both shelled and in-the-shell? That's because cashews are related to poison ivy/oak/sumac plants and the raw nuts/shells are extremely toxic. The nuts are okay after they've been roasted, and the "apples" of the plant are also safe and are often used to make jellies.

Sorry... it's all I've got. lol

On average, there are ten dogs in an African wild dog barrow.

Giraffes sleep only about a half an hour per day, usually in shorter nap form.

The duckbill platypus is one of only two poisonous mammals. (The other is the shrew)

The famous poster of Farrah Faucett was photographed inside of a car.

(I learned that yesterday and was amazed).

I don't have any to offer but I am loving reading these; please keep them coming!

Actually pandas are more closely related to bears. I am a wealth of useless animal knowledge. For instance, the largest male 'member' in the animal kingdom belongs to the blue wale, however, the largest balls belong (unsurprisingly) to the sperm whale.

I also question the red barn info, and replace it with some of my own. In the Houses of Parliament in Westminster Hall everything on the side of the House of Lords is decorated in red and everything on the side of the House of Commons is green because red was an expensive dye at the time and green was cheap and the Lords didn't want the Commons to have anything worthwhile. In fact, one of the few ways you could truly get a bright red color was through dyes made from crushed cochineal, a very small type of beetle which is still used today in many natural food colorings.

The first word of the Illiad is Menos...which means 'wrath'.

You foot is as long as your elbow to your wrist

It's impossible to fold a piece of paper in half over and over again more than 7 times

A cow can walk up stairs, but not down stairs.

Mens shirts button left over right, womens right over left. They were all right over left at one time and changed because men would catch the butt of their sword on their shirt when drawing them and it could cost them their life. Right handed swordsmen wore their scabbards on their left hip and drew them across their bodies.

Se bolded above. Awesomeness you guys!

What about the children's nursery rhyme "Ring around the Rosy" is actually about a plague (black death, I think). "pocket full of posey" is because people kept posies in their pockets to protect themselves. "we all fall down" is because they died.
