I need your advice - We are meeting a friend at Disney (they live in Florida) and they are getting a day ticket to Disney (no park hopper - just a regular ticket) and join us for a day at MK. That evening we are going to split the group. The kids go with grandparents. And the 3 of us go out for a nice meal together. We plan on going to Magic Kingdom that day. Are there any restaurants you would recommend that have no ticket required (like a Disney hotel) or a ticket to MK?

We're looking for good food and a more adult atmosphere. I would like to have alcohol available (mainly wine) but can be flexible. We have the Disney dining plan (hubby and I) to use.

 going to Disney

The Wave (Contemporary)
Kona Cafe (Poly)
'Ohana (Poly)

There are more but these are ones I have been to and like.

Check out the menus here on the Dis and see what you think.

Not sure if you were wanting a restaurant for the kids/grandparents:
Crystal Palace (MK) Winnie the Pooh and friends
1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian)
WCC (Wilderness Lodge)

We've had some nice meals at the Grand Floridian Cafe.

I can't consider 'Ohana an "adult" restaurant. No alcohol in the MK. So good bets might be Citricos, Narcoosees, Kona, the Wave, Grand Floridian Cafe or California Grill. Since you have DDP, remember Citricos, Narcoosees or California Grill will cost you 2 TS credits. If you are mainly interested in 1 credit restaurants I'd pick the Wave.

Thank you all for the great ideas. I'm checking the reservations online now.

Since your friends only have one day at the parks, I would try to stay inside MK. Dine in the castle. The castle is not just for kids. I love it there too. If you cannot dine in the castle for whatever reason, I like Narcosees at the GF. You can also check out the California Grill at the Contemporary. I think you cannot go wrong with any of the suggestions. Have fun.

My vote would be for Citrico's or Narcoossee's .. but they are 2 TS credits on dining plan.

Gotta agree with Nala on this one.

My top suggestions staying near MK would be Citricos or Artist Point. I would also recommend California Grill, but only if you like sushi as I find their sushi to be much better than their entrees lately. If you want to stick to 1TS credit restaurants, I would probably go with Kona or 'Ohana. I enjoy GF Cafe, but not so much for dinner. My absolute top 1TS restaurant pick is Sanaa, but that's going to be pretty inconvenient.

You can't go wrong with either Kona Cafe or Grand Floridian Cafe. Both are on the monorail to MK and both are 1TS. Have been to both multiple times and never had a bad meal.

Have fun!

The California Grill was by far the most adult-oriented, romantic meal during our recent trip! We both ordered alcoholic beverages, ate amazing food, and then watched the fireworks from the outside patio.

I would totally recommend this experience to anyone! And the pictures I captured from the patio outside of MK were amazing!!

Kona is a very casual restaurant...not sure if thats what your looking for?

Ohana is gorgeous, i would consider this adult themed at dinner because characters dont come around during dinner time. They only come around in the mornings.

A tip re: the 2 TS signature restaurants, i heard you could be there for a good 2-3 hours by the time your finished. If time doesnt matter to you, then i'd go for a signature restaurant for sure!! :thumbsup2

I got a reservation at Kona for the time we wanted. I would love to go to a signature restaurant - but this vacation is more on the casual, fun side. Maybe next trip we can sit down to a 2 or 3 hour meal.

Because it doesn't have characters at dinner doesn't make it an adult restaurant.

'Ohana offers periodic entertainment at dinner (coconut races, hula hoop contests, maraca parades, singalongs, limbo, hula dancing) that will result in many children (and parents) running throughout the restaurant making loads of noise. If you want to avoid that atmosphere, don't choose it for an adult dinner.
