The day we're going to dhs, we're eating an early lunch at Pizza Planet. We're not sure what to do for dinner using TS credits for the ddp. Stay at dhs? or how about Spoodles on the boardwalk? (that a quick boatride away, right?). or should we just return to CSR and eat at Maya Grill? Opinions? Thanks!!!! (dh, me, ds6 and dd2)

Yes, the Boardwalk and Beach and Yacht Club are a quick boat ride away and a visit there makes for a nice evening... There are several places that are nice to eat...

A couple of options for your family (considering ages of the kids) are Spoodles, ESPN (not on the plan, no ADR), or Big River (can eat outside) on the Boardwalk... Cape May Cafe Clam Bake or Beaches and Creme (not on the plan, no ADR) at the Beach Club.... Sci-Fi or 50s Prime Time at DHS...

On the Boardwalk there is also a take-out pizza counter and a counter where you can get mozz. sticks, fries, chicken strips, etc.... You can eat right on the Boardwalk... But these places are also not on the plan.

Sorry to correct you, but all of those places accept the DDP. You are correct though ESPN, Beaches & Cream, Big River don't accept ADRs.

You might want to try 50's Primetime. The food is homey but good. The service can be fun if you get the right one.

Big River is a nice place to eat. It is a little brewery and if it is a nice day you can eat outside and watch the boats sail past. I love the view from the Boardwalk. It's one of those little things that keep you coming back. There is also a walking path from DHS that is sometimes quicker than the boats. Since you have smaller children I would also recommend 50's Prime Time Cafe and Sci Fi Dine-In at DHS. At the Sci Fi you sit inside cars and watch clips of old sci-fi movies from the 50's and 60's. One word of advice, I've never seen this problem first hand, but some of the clips could potentially scare your children- if they are easily scared. But the kids get a kick out of sitting "upfront" of the car. The 50's Prime Time Cafe is a treat for the kids because they get to watch Mom and Dad get yelled at for not eating all their vegetables. I'm not sure how either of those places work with the DDP, but I've eaten at all of the places multiple times and never had a bad experience. And if you want to treat your husband to something a little more up his alley, eat at the ESPN Club where there a tv's in everywhere- even in the bathrooms!

I thought of the Sci Fi, but reviews i had read said the space in the seats is pretty tight and my dh is a big guy-230lbs of muscle :) and he's 6'2" so i don't want him to be crammed and uncomfortable. Anyone w/ any experience w/ this?
I checked out 50's Prime Time, but nothing on the menu really appealed to me. I thought of Mama Melrose....any reviews on that? or the Hollywood and Vine dinner buffet......wdyt?

You can ask for a "table" car... It is a regular table (I think it seats up to six) with the front and back of a car.... This a great option for larger people and those with small children that require a high chair.... These tables are less popular so you should have no problem getting one... Be sure to ask when you make your ADR and when you check-in...

We really enjoy the food there... NOTHING FANCY... Simple foods like burgers and fries... We have been three times over the past year and it is on our list again... We love the atmosphere and the food is good and the vanilla milkshakes are great!

We have been to MM twice and will not be returning... Did not like the food either time... Atmosphere is nice and servers were fine... Just did not like the food.

I have tried both Mama Melrose qand H&V ! For dinner H&V is not a character meal but is for breakfast and lunch! We had breakfast there and loved it! Another thought is Biergarten Great comfort food and very kid friendly. By the way DD is Pooh sized and was fine at Sci Fi !!
