Hi all,
I am going to be purchasing a treadmill soon. What should I look for, what's a good brand. Any help would be appreciated. I want to spend no more than about $750. Does this sound reasonable to get a good one? Thanks for your help.

You can find good treadmills at Wal-Mart for $200-$300. They are just the basic features- distance, time, calories burned. They usually have models that fold for storage. Treadmills with more bells & whistles like heart rate monitors will cost more. Just depends on what your needs are. Good luck! :D

I got my treadmill from Sears for approx $400. It folds for storage, shows calories burned and adjusts for incline. It does not have training programs like a more expensive treadmill might have but it does the trick.

Hi Melanie!

We purchased our treadmill at Sears several years ago. The belt has had to be replaced once. Check out the various brands available - we went with the Pro Form because it could handle more 'work' versus some of the then-current models. If you are looking to run on it, you will be hitting the top of your price range. If you plan on walking, you have plenty of room. :)

My husband isn't allowed to run anymore because of his back, so our next machine will probably be an elliptical - if we buy again. The machines at the Fitness Center at his work are awesome! :teeth: They carry Precor brand, which are VERY nice!
