It's been a long time....but I'm going back to WDW.

We are taking our granddaughter who is just turning 5 to AKL in June.

Does the bus go directly to MK and other parks...or will it drop us of at the TTC? Is this a good choice for us.

The first time we went to MK was with her father (our son) and we stayed at the Contempory..which offered great transportation. Nothing available during our time period at the Contemporary and the Plynesiaon was a little more than we wanted to spend.

Thanks for your help.

Don't worry - bus transportation at AKL is great! Buses will take you directly to all the parks with very little wait (I think the most we waited was 10 mins and that was at DTD). It'll take a little longer to get to MK by bus from AKL than monorail from Contemp or Poly but it'll still only be 15 mins max.

Welcome back to WDW and have a great time!

Welcome Steam Boat Willie to the Dis.:)

What a lucky child to vist Disney with her grandparents!! I took my 2 DGD's, ages at the time 5 & 7 and I got hooked.:p My first time and I can't get enough..I'm on my second trip since then and love it as an adult.

AKL is awesome, you will love it. Try Boma for the dinner buffet, they have wonderful food..I'm sorta a fussy eater, but the food is great. Going back for sure in May. I was only there for the last 3 days of my vacation, and planned to just relax. I did go to AK on the bus. Took the first early bus as I had a tour to do and I was the only one on it!! Took all of 5 mins to get there.

Have a great time with you DGD.

AKL is great! Be sure to get a Savannah view.

You may want to look into a split stay though depending on how long you are there. We were there with DD, age 4, and the commute to MK is a little long. Knowing that ahead of time we stayed at AKL two nights (I'd really recommend 3) and then moved to WL for the easy MK commute. It was worth every bit of the moving hassle.

If you are just going for a couple of days and plan to spend most of your time at MK -- you might want to consider the WL if not sold out or the Poly for at least one night. With a five year old that bus ride gets long, and if the park is crowded you will want a midday break.
