We are 11 days ( ) from our 6th trip to the world and while I believe we have become fairly seasoned travelers of "the world", I need some help...

We have two dinner ressies on two different days for restaurants in the World Showcase (Canada and Italy). We don't plan on being at EPCOT on those days and will be hopping over from other parks. We have done this before and always take a bus (usually from a park back to our motel or to DD then to EPCOT) to the front entrance and walk all the way through Future World and back to the WS. On one day we plan on being at MGM before going over to WS... is there a way to take a boat from MGM to the back of EPCOT (I believe the International Gateway)?

On the other day, we will be at AK and travel to WS for dinner at Alfredo's... any suggestions better than a bus from AK to DD or our motel (POR) then over to EPCOT? (again, walking through Future World).

Taking my 72 year old mother for her first trip WDW with us and would like make it as smooth as possible.

Thanks!

you can take a boat from MGM to Epcot, it usually stops at Swan/Dolphin, Beach Club, Boardwalk and then I believe Epcot. 15-20 mins.

The boat (there are several running, so if you miss one, another will be along in 10-20 minutes) can be boarded from the dock on your left (the only dock on the lake at MGM) as you exit the park.

Once the boat begins its trip, the length of time it takes to finally get to Epcot from MGM (with 3 other stops in-between) is a HALF-HOUR (almost to-the-minute).

I've timed this on well-over 2 dozen trips.
The speed of the boat engine has a "regulator" so that it only runs at a pre-set "full-speed".
The captain will sometimes make a joke about it, like, "Want to see how FAST we can make this thing go... ? Well, this is IT!!" :goodvibes

It takes the same amount of time to go back to MGM from Epcot's Int'l. Gateway as the boat makes the 3 stops again (in reverse order).

Thanks!

You can take a bus directly from the AK to Epcot. We did it on Thursday and it was a really easy way to get there.

There are park to park busses.

There is a direct, non stop bus from AK to Epcot.

Along with the boat, there is a direct, non stop bus from MGM to Epcot. The boat, while it being longer, would probably be better since it drops you off at WS.

I agree that you should take the boat from MGM to Epcot. It's not fast, but it is such a pleasant ride, much moreso than a bus!

As far as AK to WS, you might consider taking a bus from AK to the Beach Club and just walk to the International gateway from there.

We enjoy trying different forms of Disney transportation. We just relax and appreciate the view. Have fun ~

If you want to enter Epcot at WS you could take the bus from AK to Boardwalk and then either walk to WS or take the boat.

If you are already going to be in MGM, then sure...either take the boat or walk. But, if you are going to be in a park, and then want to head to WS, I would hop on either the YC/BC or BW bus, and then walk to the Intnl. Gateway. It's fun to see the other resorts and the walk is a quick one.
The walk from MGM to Intnl. Gateway is about 25 mins. The boat is about the same...if you get on a boat that is just leaving. Add a bit of time if you have to wait for the boat.
