This is so frustrating!
I have one semester left of school, and I keep getting these stupid little roadblocks that are driving me nuts. I feel as if I've earned some smooth sailing after all my hard work and dedication.
First of all, I lost my financial aid because I went over my allotted credit hours for graduate school. If I don't get it back, I need to come up with $10,000 by August. I found this out the day we got back from our expensive WDW vacation!
My school was giving me a hard time about student teaching in my home town because my kids go there. I had to jump through hoops for it, but they finally agreed.
So, I had to send in my clearances. Fine. I also had to get fingerprinted.
Well, that was a wild goose chase in itself. Went to the state police, and they said come back later. Called to see when was a good time, so they told me M-F 10-4 would be good. Went in on Friday at 1, and the cop there was nasty and practically chased us out of the building. Went to our local cops, and there wasn't an officer available. Went back to the local cops the next day, and he did it for me & was very nice about it. Told me the state boys don't DO fingerprints for employees.
He didn't understand it either.
Sent in the fingerprint card, following the instructions to a tee. Card got sent back to me, because my instructions were wrong. Student teachers don't NEED fingerprints.
Called my school. The student teacher advisor doesn't work in the summer, but she did call me from home and told me to talk to the school district administration. Uh, but we're not supposed to contact our host school, because it's a big no-no!
Anyway, I worked it out with the school, and they sent all the paperwork in for me.
BUT, it just got returned to me AGAIN. Student teachers don't need fingerprints. Nor do residents of this state. I called the principal who's insisting on this (the principal who is the bane of my son's existence and I'm hoping that he doesn't realize who I am over the phone), and he said to send it again because he wants the fingerprints.
Student teachers don't need fingerprints.
Not only do I have to worry about my money, but now I have to worry about not teaching in this school because of a stupid technicality.
And what's worse, I'm paying out the patoot for this school, and I shouldn't have to be going through all this run around! The advisor should KNOW all the regulations, and SHE should be running interference with the school district.
Thanks for listening.
