Need to sell, who should we list with?

We are planning to move to Orlando, and will not longer need our DVC points. We just started the process of getting things in order, and would like to go ahead and list our DVC points.

Does anyone have opinions about who we should list with? We were very unhappy with the resell process when we purchased our points resale, so, I know I won't be using that particular company.

Any one have any words of wisdom as to how this will all work? I have read a little bit, but, everything seems so be a little vague for my liking.

As a buyer x 2, Timeshare Store was very good. Timely, thorough, available. When I was in the process of buying our resale contracts, while I looked at other brokers, I leaned towards TTS contracts because of their proven track record. One girls opinion.

I agree. If I were going to buy another resale contract, I would definitely try to work with the TSS first.

I sent TSS a request form for information, and literally within mins. I had a reply. So far so good. I think we just went from 90% sure to 100% sure we are moving to Orlando!

My understanding is that Fidelity requires an exclusive listing agreement, but the others allow you to list through multiple brokers. I don't think there's really a difference between brokers. You just want one with a decent amount of buyer traffic.

I never considered listing with multiple brokers (duh)! This is my first time selling anything other than a car. I know I have a lot to learn. Thank you for the help and suggestion!

I am selling a DVC contract with TTS and they do make it easy. I filled out information online, printed the form out, signed it and sent the form back. After they checked with Disney to verify my information I got an email, called TTS back and my contact was posted on their website. It sold that day so there were other forms to sign and now the long wait for Disney's ROFR.

Did you send in a copy of your deed? I have it "somewhere." Finding it might take a lot though.

Another strong vote for Timeshare Store. Also another strike against Fidelity- they didnt seem to want to help me find a contract as a buyer. If I were a seller I would want an agent who sells!

As a buyer I wanted to buy through the TTS. It didn't have the extra fees, and always updated their site.
However fidelity had the exact contract I wanted, close to the price we wanted.

As a buyer I noticed fidelity was normally cheaper PP..

I did fax a copy of my deed but I don't think you have to.

I have both bought and sold thru TSS, and they are great.

JMHO, you should go with Timeshare Store.

I worked with both the The TimeShare Store and Fidelity and have had great experiences with both. But I agree, Fidelity seems to be a bit less per pt.

When I was purchasing my add-on contract I was interested in 2 contracts that were very similar.

I made an offer through Fidelity, then withdrew it because their closing costs were much higher than the other company.

I have no experience with TTS. ..... but, would check out each company's fees and experience though the purchaser's eyes.

I'll agree with previous post as a valid consideration on with whom to list your contract. I rarely check Fidelity site any longer for a few factors: they are slow to update their site with actual availability and I don't like to spend time calling on a committed contract, second factor is the added administrative cost.

I've purchased a few from TTS and DVCByResale and were pleased with the services of both.

only have feedback as a buyer but fidelity were SO useless I wouldn't ever give them my business. Days to get back to me, emails unanswered, phone calls and messages ignored... just not how to do business. TSS were such a contrast, helpful, replied always right away, pleasant, friendly... I know where I would go in the future.

Congrats on your upcoming move! We made the move to Orlando 16 years ago and love living here. Despite being local I just bought my first DVC contract! Used TSS and everything has been great so far; hope to close in 2 weeks.

Yes, they have an additional administrative cost, that they couldn't justify. You just reminded me.
