Unfortunately, marital circumstances are forcing me to consider selling my DVC points. I have not, as yet, used my 2003 points (I had planned on banking them, but haven't done so yet), and I've already paid for my 2003 maintenace in full. I'm trying to understand how much I can get for the points, but I haven't been able to find any listed for sale on various timeshare resale websites. Is there a reason for this?? Is it because Disney will exercise its ROFR since BCV is still selling? Can I call Disney directly and work out a deal with them, or do I need to list it first?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Call Pat Spell at The Timeshare Store. We bought our OKW contract through her and she was most helpful.

It might be that BCV contracts don't make it to the listings before they are sold.

Good luck.

I think the reason you don't see BCV on the resale lists is because it is only a year old. Everyone is just making their first trips. I bought Boardwalk in 1999 and at that time there were few resales (opened in 1996).

Disney will not buy it back directly from you. You need to either find a buyer or call one of the resale companies. With 2003 points, you should not have a problem selling it. DVC is selling BCV for $74 but the buyer has sell back 2003 points or $84 if the buyer keeps the 2003 points.

Good Luck!

I know that Shontell at the Timeshare store had a BCV resale several months ago so there have been some out there.

I don't know if you used Magical Beginnings, but if not I would expect you are looking at a $10 per point loss at a minimum. (Not counting the broker commission.) Sorry!

Sorry to hear of your changed circumstances.

You can contact any of the resale brokers for assistance selling or can try to sell it yourself thru a site like tug2.net . As mentioned, DVC will only enter the picture once you have a bonafide offer to present to them for consideration. (Unless you are still within your 30 day rescision period where you can change your mind.)

BCV is such a new resort, that there are few available for resale, thus the scarcity of listings. The Timeshare Store can certainly offer some advice and assistance.

For Sale posts aren't allowed on the DIS, so we can't provide anything other than advice directing you elsewhere.

Good Luck!
