I forgot to post a couple of tips on my other post...so here's even more! 
Turn down your hot water heater. Running it hot uses energy
Get a heat pump! If you aren't sure what they are, they are basically a swamp cooler that can run in reverse to bring heat in rather than suck it out of your house. These are one of the lowest ways to heat and cool a house.
