Need to come up with $1000 by Aug. 1

Looking for ideas to come up with $1000 from now until Aug 1st. Here are things we are doing.

-just cashed in cans
-saving all loose change
-selling stuff on craigslist
-doing auditing jobs/secret shopping
-not spending on entertainment
-inbox, sunshine rewards (not as much lately), my points
-we have 4 kids (saving $ by breastfeeding the baby)
-coupons

Anyone have any other ideas? I just feel overwhelmed since the family is "on board" but not really helping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know what I'm talking about "mom will figure it out".

Unless you have big ticket items to sell on Craigslist and/or will save a whole bunch of ching cutting out entertainment, trying to come up with $1K in less than two weeks does not seem possible given the list you provided. Most of the items seem as though they would not net that much in two short weeks. Sorry...don't mean to be a Debbie Downer.

Don't know the ages of your kids other than the baby, and if they are young as well, this may not be feasible, but have you considered trying to round up some babysitting jobs for you -- either in your home or someone else's? Maybe housesitting/pet sitting for people who are going on vacation?

With only a 2 week timeframe I don't see how you can make that goal with couponing alone. If it is a desperate need you can try and take out a personal loan from a bank.

Those will all work - unlikely that any auditing/secret shopping jobs will pay that fast - there are a few companies that you would get your money within that time but a very few and if you aren't all ready on board with them I don't see that happening.

If you have money coming in during that time do what you can not to spend it - for example make a game out of eating from your cupboards/pantry etc.

You could sell plasma. Gross, but still something that pays.

Are any of your kids old enough to work? Can they mow lawns, babysit, walk dogs, yard clean up, etc?

Even if you got another job right away, you most likely won't be paid by Aug. 1. Can you pick up more hours at your job now? What is the money for?

Have you checked for unclaimed property? Be sure to check every state you and your DH have lived in, using all names you may have used (maiden name, etc.)

ETA: If you do find any though, probably wouldn't get there in 14 days.

Yard sale, plasma, lemonade stands-this really works in our neighborhood around 4pm and through the time people come home from work, lol! Let the kids keep some of it and pocket the rest, even if it's only $20, that's twenty you don't have to find from somewhere else and it gets the kids involved. Craigslist has sold lots of our stuff this year. We moved and purged. How about credit card reward points? Sometimes you can get cash or at least gift cards from those. I always find bits of money when I go through winter coats pockets, jacket pockets, old purses, bottoms of drawers.

I would definitely use Craig's List to sell anything and everything. I made about $500 one week doing this, but, I did have to part with some "big" things that I may not have done if I didn't need the money.

I would have a yard sale set up, and I would not take it down until everything was sold.

Ask some friends/family if you can clean their house. Even if you need to charge a little less than you would like, it will make you some money. I know if you were close to me, mine needs cleaning. Do the same with mowing their yards. Tell them you need some extra cash.

Definitely a yard sale! I made $700 in 2 days and just had mostly clothes, toys, and junk!! Junk Sales!! lol I priced everything super cheap (1.00) I did have a few items that went for $20 each but that was horse sadles and stuff like that! Also I make hair bows so if you would like to try that I'll help you learn and can give you great sites that offer free instructions. They are easy to make and you can buy the ribbon at walmart and make profit! You could go to flea markets and sell them or to your friends. I sell most of mine on facebook. You pay $3 per roll and can make $40+ profit! PM me if you want my help!

ask the inlaws, ask your parents, call any credit card/loan companies and ask them for a month off of payments due to financial hardship...
