Need to cancel Paradise Pier Hotel

My husband and I booked a trip to DL in September. There were no DVC rooms available at GCV so we booked at Paradise Pier. Our daughter has new medical issues and we are now unable to go. When I cancel Paradise Pier, are those points only available for use for the Disney Collection hotels? We live in Orlando so we would be using the points at WDW. Has anyone cancelled a Disney Collection stay?

Once converted to Disney collection they cannot be converted back.

Yes, for the Disney Collection, not for DVC resorts. And for WDW there will be a $95 charge to use them there.
