Need To Cancel and ask for your prayers

So sorry to hear about your loving companion. I have lost dogs in my life, and the posts about "rainbow bridge" have brought tears to my eyes. I believe in the power of positive thinking, and miracles. Keep a positive outlook, and love your dog as you always have. Time can be brief for many animals (humans included). You are fortunate enough to know something "may" occur in the near future. My most precious friend dropped in the backyard, just after I had played with him and stepped inside. He was nearly 14, and just collapsed...facing the western sunset. I recall the day, time and scenery...as if it were yesterday. It was 6 years ago...yesterday (to be exact). I miss him every day.
The Dolphin staff will definitely work with you in respect to your vacation plans. Inform them of the details, and set a new date...which can be changed again when needed. I wish you and your dog all the best life and hope can afford. Take care, and God Bless you for your sweet heart. :D

Leigh, I am so glad that the appt with the regular vet went so much better.

I have a Dobie that will be 6 in September. I didn't know about them being especially susceptible to heart problems. I will have to ask our vet about that at Chili's next visit. Thanks for the info. It sounds like it would be something that you would want to catch early.

I love Dobies. He's my third. He's a huge guy and sweet as can be.

Sending big hugs to you and ear rubs to Sebastian.

Leigh,

I am soooo glad you got to speak to another vet. I was going to say the same thing she said. I have had many pets and like anne was saying enacard is an excellent medication for trreating k-9's with cardiomyopathy. My dog Billy was on it. My doctor was so optimistic that she said he would probably die from something that was not related to his heart, which was true, and unfortunately we lost him in feb 2001. He was 15.

I know the value of love. One of the reasons why I stayed off-site for so many years was because I could not leave him behind on vacations. Every day I spent with him was precious, and there is not a day that goes by when I do not think of him.

If you can not go to Disney, bring Disney to your home, and make every day magical for him. Provide him with all the hugs and kisses you can, and believe me Sebastian will be the happiest dog in the world.

our beautiful tuxedo cat , at the age of two came down with some unknown illness that our town vet could not diagnose. The vet in town was basically giving him a death sentence!

However, we did not want to give up on him and we flew him to a specialist ( my DH took time off and escorted him) in another province. After several very scarry days he was eventually diagnosed with a very rare type of Lupus. He is on meidication for the rest of his life...but I am happy to report that he is going into his sixth year and has been very healthy since then!

Never give up - animals are very resiliant and some respond very well to medication.

I am so happy to hear that your 'baby' will also have a fighting chance; best wishes.

Kim

I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Maybe Anne is right about the new drugs. Good Luck.
