Need to buy swimmies in Nov

We are headed down in a week. We are staying in a vacation home with a pool. My 2 yo DS need some swimmies(blow up floatation wings) to go on his arms for the pool. 1) Do the stores down there sell these items year around? 2) If there another item for the pool that would be better?

Yes, most stores sell swimmies. The problem with swimmies is they can pop off.

I would suggest an actual Type II or Type III Life Vest for your little one. You'll want one that zippers up or straps across his chest and has a crotch strap that snaps to keep the vest in place. My 4 year old DD has a Type III that I bought at Wal*Mart and it has the Little Mermaid on it. We used it when we went to Hawaii when we swam in the ocean. I believe a Type II will have a "pillow" behind the head to keep the child's head out of the water. That may or may not be good for swimming.

We were so impressed with the vests Disney uses that we got home and ordered them over the internet. At the waterparks and hotels (at least at the BWVs) you can get one of these on loan.

Walmart in Kissimee has just about all the swim stuff you could need... I would also do a legnth of stay check out on a life vest from the hotel... or just go with out and hold on to your little one...

The Disney resorts allow you to check-out a lifevest for your length of stay for free. It's great to see a 2 year old motoring around the pool with one of those on. The OP will be staying off-site at a vacation home, so s/he will need to buy something.
