We are taking our 8 month old for her first trip to DW in December. Does anyone have any suggestions for ways to improve this adventure? I have never had to pack baby food on our prior trips. Any suggestions for dealing with high chairs and bibs? I thought about getting a cover to put over the high chairs, but the ones I looked at are cloth. She will probably still be nursing, so I wont have to deal with bottles. Its feeding her solids and not making a huge mess that concern me. ;)

I never thought I would get so worried about this trip. Its been hard planning since it is in Dec, and we can't be sure how warm or cool it will be then. She has outgrown most of her summer things. I found some clothes that (hopefully) will fit her then on clearance that she can wear if its warm.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated to this worrying mom. Thanks:goodvibes

I was in your shoes in July. I took my 11 month old down in JULY.. it was so hot.. but she did great! Just make sure you keep her hydrated. We are going down in November. and I am packing for hot and cold because you never know. For the highchairs, I have the cloth cover but didnt bring it down, because I didnt want to have to worry about it getting dirty and lugging it around. I brought down lysol wipes and just wiped the chairs down and the tables down where she would be touching. I also got table toppers from Bj's to put on the tables, which worked out awesome! The bibs and throw away changing pads were awesome, I got two boxes from Babies R us and they worked out well. And for the mess, just pack wipes, extra clothes, and I always cleaned up after she was done eating. No biggie! It all worked out really well! And what really surprised me were the baby care centers.. they were beautiful! We went in there to get out of the sun and just relax. They have everything you need.. even breast bottle warmers or rocking chairs to nurse in! Have a great time!

Thanks for the suggestion about the Lysol wipes. That would work a lot better than a cover for the high chair. The disposable changing pads would work good too. I hadn't thought of those. Thanks for the tips. She is our fourth baby, but I still sometimes feel she is our first. :)
