We recently remodeled our entire bathroom. We had the tile walls and floor ripped out and replaced with new tile. We have a standing shower that has tile on the floor and walls and glass doors. We had a professional installation. We sealed the grout 3 times over to make sure it was protected. We followed the instructions to a T and then some. However, now after only three showers, a large portion of the grout on the shower floor and the first row of grout on the wall tile is extremely discolored. We had a canvas colored grout to start and now it is a chocolate brown. It has ruined the look of the entire custom shower area. No, its not still wet...its been days since the showers and it still looks brown. We have tried household cleaners and now have a grout cleaner from Home Depot on it. My question is, why would it discolor like this so fast? We've remodeled other bath/shower tile before (in our other houses) and never sealed the grout and never had this kind of discoloration. The fact that it happened only after three showers has us completely stumped and furious! The grout's color before the showers was completely fine and matched everything else. Its where the water mainly hits that is so discolored. We don't have hard water here and we don't have any other problems with water discoloration in any of the other bathroom. We spent so much money on this remodel and right now it looks ruined. Does anyone have any tile experience out there that can help? Anyone's DH a tile expert? Please! Thanks!
