I've been reading these message boards for a year now. Its so nice to find people that are as obsessive about travel as I am--expecially with the planning!!

We leave on the Wonder on April 22; Me37, DH39, DS15 and DS11, along with my Dsister 40, her DH40, DD15 and DS9. I've read most of the posts about teen activities and while my 15 y/o is excited about going on his first cruise, he wasn't AS excited after we watched the TC special on the DCL.

Does anyone have any experience with the teen clubs and activities? We're only on the 3 day....so I'm thinking he won't have any time to be bored! He's afraid that the Disney ship is for the 'little kids'. He was really impressed with the basketball court and loves to play and like the movie theater so I guess there are some activities that will keep him entertained!! (how does that work? first come first served or do you book times for the court?) Have any of your kids done the Wild Side on CC?? That looked like it might be fun for the teens.

Thanks in advance....looking forward to a great trip.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I can't give you too much info about the clubs and activities because my kids didn't get too involved with them on the last cruise. They were DD 13 and DS 11 at the time. MY DD was JUST 13 and felt a bit young for the teen group and my DS prefered the movies, video arcade and exploring on his own.

BUT I can tell you they had a great time just hanging out and doing their own thing. They asked if we could try a week on the Magic. This time (they'll be DD16 and DS14) I think they may be more interseted in the teen group activities.

I'm pretty sure they'll have fun whatever they do...us too!

I hope this helps, enjoy your cruise!

We just did the 7 day in January. My 15DD loved it. I would say go right away to meet everyone and go often. It took her awhile to warm up to the club and by then everyone had their friends picked out. She really got into it the last 3 days though and I hardly saw her. She still emails her friends that she met. I would say the excursion would be fun if he had met friends. I would hold off on signing you son up for the excursion to see what he thinks about the other teens. Maybe call and see if that excursion fills up quickly... I wouldn't want to spend the money to send him away all day if he might not enjoy it.

toot2 - when are you cruising? I have a DD16.

We sailded on the 3/20 Magic and I have a just turned 13 DS.. Never saw him!! Except at dinner, which was mandatory... He had a great time in The Stack and with the other boys.. They ate a lot of burgers, pizza and ice cream.. hung out and played ping pong, BBall, did various activites at the Stack.. The Stack opens at noon or so , so he hung out with the other boys in the morning, then they went to The Stack once it opened.. and stayed until it closed at 2 pm..

he didn't want to do the wild side at CC but went with the other teens to the teen beach..they played volleyball, and football and made rafts and had contest..

He said he that he had the best vacation ever!!!

We were on a 4 day and he loved it! He had the time of his life! I would recommend the teens go to the 411 meeting at The Stack the first day. That's when you meet everyone and the kids make friends.

My DS13 was sad to leave the ship, he said, by the time he got to know everyone and start having a great time we had to get off the ship. So he's looking forward to our 5/8 7 Day.

He did not do the Castaway Cay Wild Side excursion but wished he would have. He heard it was a blast. He stayed with us at the Family Beach but this time, he says he's hanging out at the Teen Beach.

I have another question about the Teens Club, this cruise we will be traveling with another family. They have a DD of 15 who is interested in the Teen Club.

How would they go about registering her? I remember for our DS 7 we had to alert the counselors to any medical conditions or allergies, and fill out quit a bit of paperwork in the Oceaneer's Club. If I remember correctly their daughter has severe asthma, it would seem someone might need to know that.

Do the teen's parents go to the common grounds for orientation or are the Teens pretty much responsible for themselves?
