Need Surprise birthday L/O ideas......

HELP!! One of my good friend's husband celebrated his 40th birthday last year. My DF gave him a surprise birthday party at our local country club that was awesome. We had so much fun!! Now I have these pictures of everyone dancing and singing (karoke) and have completely drawn a blank on what to do w/them. This was Christmas 03 so on the first 2 pages that has several pictures of folks posing around the Christmas tree I have used Christmas colors and kinda formal. But the rest of the pictures are of folks dancing -- line dances, the chicken dance, conga lines etc so I want these to be fun. I'm completely blank on what colors to use. I don't want to use shades of pink since it's a man's 40th so I'm thinking about blues--circles, stripes, solids etc. Have been on 2 Peas but haven't found anything that "lights my candle". Any suggestions?

how about using black as the base color afterall he did turn 40.....you can use the old addage....Lordy Lordy look who's 40......add some music notes since everyone is dancing, .....or make big music notes with photos in the circle part, this should be real easy with a circle cutter....

think about using black along with a 2 festive colors

...or black with silver and a print that looks a little more night clubish.

YOu could always make records out of circles and make a note that back in the day they played albums and now its CDs or something like that.......

sorry if this isn't much help......have fun with it!!! I just did an entire 40th bday album for my DB, it was huge.....and fun!

GoofyMomandPop............Thanks for the great idea. I found some great stickers from CM that I didn't remember having. They must be from a swap I did at one time b/c I know I didn't buy them....they're silver and gold pin strips w/top hats, champagne glasses, streamers and stars. I thought I had a sticker of a Disco ball but apparently have used it b/c it is not on the sheet it came on. I started working on this L/O last night by taking 2 sheets of black c/s, put the pin stripes on the outisde of each sheet and then bordered all pictures in light gray. Then i'm going to take the same light gray c/s and count out 40 in big letters and also use it as a block for my journaling. Then i'll splatter streamers and muscial notes around. I also have some musical instruments I can add if needed. I think it'll look good when I get it done!

When you said surprise - I thought of maybe doing a Pop Up sign that when you open the pages, a big sign pops up and says surprise... but the sign could also say 'lordy lordy look who's 40'. Just a thought. Have fun with the pages!
