We will be going to the party on Sept 22nd and I'm concerned about the heat. DH and I are planning on getting t-shirts made, but I'd really like DD (2) to dress up. She'll be in a stroller most of the time, so it needs to be comfortable for her to sit in. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

When DD was 2 and we went to MNSSHP that was our biggest concern. We ended up putting her in a cheerleader outfit and we made T-shirts that had her picture in the outfit on it that said Our Little All-Star (or something like that) on the front. Then on the back we had "Sammi's Mom" and "Sammi's Dad"

Here are just some suggestions off the top of my head:
1. Little American Idol - you can dress her however you'd like to suit the weather, just get a microphone and print out a contestant number.
2. Luau girl - get a grass skirt and lei
3. 50's girl - get a poodle skirt
4. Kitty - only get the ears
5. Madeline - since this character is in the blue dress, should be comfortable in the stroller plus the yellow hat
6. Safari explorer - you could probably find the necessary items from Oriental Trading
7. Dora the Explorer - I think she wears shorts so that would help if it is hot
8. Alice in Wonderland

That's all I can think of right now. Hope this helps. Have a great time!

Howdy fellow Texans! We will be there the same night!!! If you're wanting to stick w/ the Disney theme, you could just dress her as Minnie--nice cool red polka-dotted dress? You & DH could wear Mickey/Minnie shirts w/ Mickey/Minnie ears on your heads??

We are seriously considering the Incredibles. We wanna dress DD9 like Violet & DD6 like Dash (maybe just short sleeves & shorts, not the whole long sleeve outfits.) DH & I can just wear our Incredibles t-shirts that we wore last summer.

Anyway, good luck with your decision & hopefully we'll see ya there! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the suggestions, guys!

I can sew, so I've been looking around for ideas. Allie was sitting by me while I was on the laptop last night and came across and very cute cinderella pattern that she loved. "I Cideryella, Momma" :) So, it looks like that might be what we go with. I like that I can make it with lightweight fabrics. Here's a pic of the pattern. What do ya'll think?

P.S. I love the idea of the dressing the family like the Incredibles. We'll keep a look out for ya'll!

OH!! She will be just precious as Cinderella! I never thought of a princess, because those costumes are so itchy & scratchy. But, if you're making it...then it will be wonderful! princess: Now you & DH can dress up as Gus & the cute female mouse. :rotfl: Have fun sewing & we'll see ya there.
