I will be taking a couple of long flights to Alaska and back and would like suggestions for movies to take along to watch in our laptop for the flight(s) and layovers.

I would love a cute romatic comedy or two:lovestruc. DH would like something more in the action genre.

I am open to suggestions.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button It's not the first movie you think of when you hear "romantic comedy," but it was romantic and I laughed out loud more often than with any other "romantic comedy" I've ever seen. Also, very touching so have your tissues ready. Oh....and it's LONG!

The Notebook is a favorite (although I still think the book was better) and I admit that I am really intrigued by The Curious Case of Benjamin Button...I think that one will go on the list. I will check out the other titles (Just Married and What Happens in Vegas). Thanks!

Does anyone have any suggestions of action movies?

Try Commando(has some really funny lines), any Die Hard, Indiana Jones, any Terminator. :dance3:

The Mummy 1 and 2 (not 3) action and romance and comedy

Just watched a movie called Bottle Shock, wiht Alan Rickman. It's about the when the California wine industry made it's first big splash in 1976. It was actually pretty good. Had its funny moments, and a bit of romance, more just life situations.

a James Bond movie is always an entertaining time killer

Moulin Rouge.

You could take a look at a recent thread called "Movies you can watch over and over" or something to that effect. There were a lot of really great movies listed there.

I was about to suggest Bottle Shock! My husband, who likes a little bit of everything, LOVED it.

I wasn't expecting much when I rented it, but I like Alan Rickman so I gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised. But I really like out of the way movies like that.

A couple of quirkier movies to try, both British, would be would be Local Hero - my fave of all time. And a more recent one called Keeping Mum, with Rowan Atkinson - a very quirky black comedy.

Or really anything written by Richard Curtis is good for a romantic comedy: Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually,

About a Boy was pretty good too.

you could always rumage through the 5$ bin at wal-mart and target. Pick something you like, something random. You're only trying to kill time. Or pick up a video game. :)

Ladyhawke: Romance & adventure
Tropic Thunder: comedy action
Big Trouble: Tim Allen comedy action
Bride & Prejudice: Bollywood version of Austen comedy with MUSIC

Hmmm...For romantic comedy, any of the Kate Hepburn/Spencer Tracy films.
Also another with her: Bringing Up Baby.

Romantic Comedy: Love Actually, Music & Lyrics (very funny), Princess Bride

Action: I agree with the Mummy! Also, The Bourne movies (Identity, Supremacy & Ultimatum), James Bond: Casino Royale (the remake), and Ironman!.
......I am a female who doesn't really like violent movies but these ones are just really good!!
