We have decided to come a day early for our vacation in two weeks. Unfortunately, Pop Century, where we are staying, has no availability. We are thinking about staying at an offsite hotel the first night and then going to Pop the next morning to check bags, get our tickets and head to MK!

I'm searching for hotels and getting very confused about maingate east, etc. We would like to be near Pop so that we can easily get there that morning before going to MK. We don't need anything fancy, just clean and comfortable. Our daughters will be with us, 1 and 4, so a pool would be nice after the long drive. Thanks for any input you can give us!

The hotels in the Marriott Village at Little Lake Bryan are very close to POP, just an exit (or so) up I-4. In January, my parents stayed at POP and we were at the Springhill Suites there, and it was so close. You just hop on I-4, go up an exit or two and the Marriott Village is straight ahead off the exit. There is a Fairfield Inn, Springhill Suites and Courtyard there. :thumbsup2

Am doing the same thing in a couple weeks. Great rates at the Downtown Disney resorts at this point. I got a great room at Hilton for $109, but there were rooms for less at the other resorts - I just wanted some more Hilton checkin credit.

Best Western was $89, Grosvenor about $69 (not a favorite of mine but maybe for one night), Royal Plaza with new rehab $100, Doubletree Club (just outside gate) $89, Doubletree Suites (nice two room suite) $119.

Gaylord Palms is very close, but it isn't cheap and you probably wouldn't be able to make the most of it staying just one night.

Do any of the All Star resorts have any availability? They're really not far from Pop (both are on the Osceola Parkway - just at opposite corners of WDW - a couple of miles tops I would say). That way, you could head straight to MK from the All Stars on your first morning (you'd already have your Keys to the Magic cards) and Disney would move your luggage for you. Just a thought.

.

Just past the Gaylord Palms are Country Inn and Suites and Amerisuites. You just go over the parkway, it's very easy & quick and they usually have great rates.

Comfort Inn recently had a special through hotelkingdom.com for 2 doubles and a sofabed with fridge for $39 just outside of downtown Disney.
Radaisson at the Parkway is really close and is about $69 and has the really comfy beds for @$69

We moved from Pop to the Clarion Maingate on last trip -- not very far away, reasonable price, not fancy (and we liked it a lot better!) Has an okay pool - good breakfast.

The Marriott Village hotels are pretty nice and close to WDW.

But have you checked everywhere for Pop Century availability? Called AAA? How about Southwest Airlines (they sell Disney packages and rent Disney rooms). Does Expedia still list WDW rooms? There most be a travel agent or company with rooms available still.
