I'm in the market for a new video high definition camcorder. I would love to see one with low light excellent quality and better optical zoom and that can take higher megapixel still pictures, too. I don't want a pro camcorder, but I'm willing to spend some bucks. I want SD card capabilities and built in hard drive would be a nice option.
I've been using an older model high definition camcorder that uses tapes. The tapes I buy for the very best quality run me $20 to $25 dollars each and I get 1 hour per tape. I've been told for the best of the best quality not to reuse the tapes, either. I'm a fanatic to a certain degree, but I do not want to keep paying for tapes. I use about 10 of them per each vacation I take and that's spending $200 at least on tapes. I think it's time to go tapeless.
Thanks in advance for your opinions; I value the suggestions on this board.
