Need suggestions for good bars to hang out in and have a few drinks!

What a great thread! I'm printing this off ready for our trip in 2 weeks :teeth: . Can't promise to try them all, but we'll give it our best shot ;).

It seems like we are going to have to start some kind of bar tour!!
A fantastic idea! We've already signed up for 'Drinks around the World'.

Hi Debbie!

We will be on property this Saturday (5/3). I wish I was able to be there when you are so we could all do the 'Drinks Around the World' together. Unfortunately, my next trip isn't until 6/12 thru 6/16:( !

Have fun!
Kim

P.S. If you actually do the "Drinks Around the World' at Epcot--please post about how it went--and maybe how you felt the next day;) !

That's my only reservation, Kim! It is our first day and we will be severely jet-lagged! We are 5 hours ahead of EST here in the UK - we'll be awake at around 4am on that first morning. We are normally flagging quite early, without 'drinking around the World'!

Have a great time.

Debbie,

We'll carry you!:D

They seriously don't have Bass on draft in North Carolina??? Eegads, I just crossed that off my list of potential states for retirement!!! Now, my question is...does the Rose and Crown have Bass draft COLD? I know that true Brits drink their beer at room temp, but I love mine ice cold.

Bar tours, here we come!!!

My DH and I are celebrating our annivesary this fall with a DCL 3 day cruise and then 5,6 or 7 days( depending on the codes and discounts) on site. We have been to WDW so many times that we are going to take the 'laid back' approach to this vacation. Since we will be childless, we have decided to do things that we never take time to do. Dinners at some of the resorts we haven't stayed at, Biking, miniature golf, etc. We have toyed with the idea of having drinks at CR- 15th floor lounge. But to have a goal of Drinks Around the World Tour is the greatest. I can see bumper stickers, T- shirts, hats, towels, all with 'I drank myself Around the World' . But I suppose that Disney would want a cut into this.
This is perfect! Count us in!

:earseek: :earseek:

I also recommend The Adventurers Club! It's so much fun and make sure you catch the show too.

Rose & Crown is great. Went to Big River Grille & Brewery atBoardwalk a couple of times last year and it could become a regular stop. Good draft brews made onsite (had a killer stout there) and decent pub grub with some more upscale items.

Another vote for Big River Grille and Brewery! It's one of our favorite stops with excellent selection of home brew. To our vegan delite, the beers are even VEGAN FRIENDLY!

My suggestion (from experience both ways)....do the resort BEFORE the cruise! You'll wear yourself out at the resorts just in time to relax on the cruise. DH and I are also childless, so PM me if you have any questions I may be able to help with!

I'm so glad this thread has survived! Ah, Beer, the staple that holds us together. From these responses, the bars that peak my interest are Big River Grille, Crew Cup, and Rose & Crown - but I am sure it won't be limited to just those!! I will probably do the monorail tour also - great idea!

I'll be thinking of ya'll when I'm sipping (gulping?) my way through the Imperial Sampler TOMORROW as I sit at the Rose & Crown watching Illuminations!

Hello again!

We will probably be doing the monorail lounge tour this Saturday night (5/2) and then head over to the Adventurer's Club. If anyone wants to join us (Kim-age 30, with boyfriend Max-age 25) just let me know!

We are going to plan to drink our way 'Around The World' the last week of October 2003 (somewhere close to Halloween--that way we can do Halloween Horror Nights at Universal too!!). I will set an official date by August at the latest, so that anyone else who would like to join us for 'Drinks Around The World' can make plans enough in advance! Hopefully we will end up with a good sized group! I would recommend either staying at the YC/BC, Boardwalk, or Swan/Dolphin (that way you can simply walk back to your hotel), the Polynesian (a quick monorail ride and short walk back to your room), or at the very least one of the other hotels on property (take the bus back--this may take a stronger stomach than the other two ;) !). If none of the above work, a taxi or designated driver is suggested:) ! I'll keep everyone posted on this board!!

Thanks and cheers!

If you want to go further afield than WDW, how about CityWalk at Universal Studios?

Great bars at the Universal Hotels are Bar America at Portofino Bay Hotel and Velvet at the Hard Rock.

Dawa Bar at AK is GREAT! We love to sit and people watch, see the African dancers and musicians while enjoying a nice cold one. We have met the most interesting people while doing this!

Let me second the Dawa Bar. We had a great time there this past April. Be sure to get your picture taken by the bartender. They are starting a "family" photo album... I think we are #61 or was is 63. Too much fun to remember, I know it is in the 60's.

HAVE FUN!!!

Where is the DAWA Bar located in AKL?? Thanks! Dh and I will be there end of May and are always looking for places to hang out!
