Hello,
I will be traveling to WDW with 3 other adults and a 3 year old with Free Dining Plan and we need one more place to dine- so far we have ADRs at the following:
Liberty Tree Tavern
Teppan Edo
50's Prime Time
Sci Fi Diner
Mama Melrose (Fantasmic)
Akershus
Le Cellier
Crystal Palace
Sanaa

We want it to be a place in the park and not another character meal (we are unsure of how the 3 year old will react to the characters- right now they freak him out- hence the Akershus, since they are just pretty ladies. We understand Crystal Palace may freak him out, but we are pretty sure one character meal will not scar him for life, so we are willing to chance it- two might be too much).
Any place with good chocolate desserts (without fruit) are a plus!!!

Thanks
Skelinton

First of all, I have to say you have some AMAZING choices there. Some of my fave restaurants are on your list!!!! Sci Fi, Teppan Edo, Liberty Tree, Crystal Palace. YUM!!!! I love them all! Not sure which one i like best, i think it might be Teppan Edo. SO GOOD!

TIP: Dont expect steaks from heaven at Le Cellier. Its incredibly over-rated. Most love and cherish this place, but I found it VERY disapointing. I wouldnt return. Mind you i went BEFORE they changed dinner to 2 TS credits....so maybe its a lot better than before?? (Lunch is still 1 TS thou). I cant wait to hear what you think of this place when you return. Hopefully you will write up a little "food report" for us?? :)

Suggestions:
1) what about Coral Reef? Its very pretty in there. Your son will love seeing all the different types of fish!

2) The Plaza (MK). Although their food is simple (burgers, sandwiches, icecream) its quite delish. And the atmosphere is very nice too. Check out menu's at allears.net.

3) Via Napoli - its a new restaurant in epcot, many people swear by it. They say its absolutely delicious. Many prefer this place over Tutto Italia! Imagine!

How about chefs de France. Although the characters may scare him/ her, the little animatronic remy is pretty cute.

The Plaza would be my suggestion. It's an ice cream parlor too so it has great desserts.:thumbsup2

For MK-Plaza and Epcot-Coral Reef maybe your little one will enjoy the fishes in the tank. I know the food is sometimes hit/miss but atmosphere is certainly nice.

Great list! I second the idea for Chefs De France with Remy - so much fun! I also love San Angel Inn

Here are my suggestions:

MK:
- The Plaza (simple but delicious and great desserts!)
- Liberty Tree Tavern (simple again but sooo good and they have some awesome desserts!)
- Tony's Town Square (a great atmosphere and great food. The tiramisu and the ice cream bomb are soo yummy.)

Epcot:
- Via Napoli (delish with great desserts!)
- Tutto Italia (some of the best food/dessert we've had @ WDW)
- Coral Reef (your son will love seeing all the fish!)

You can check out all the menus on allears. :goodvibes

Happy planning! :yay:

In WHICH park?

In MK, TS Tonys is a good basic food choice; nice theming no characters. Not great chocolate desserts, though. Or the Plaza, lighter food but chocolate ice cream and maybe a chocolate brownie for dessert.

At Epcot, I agree with Coral Reef and get The Wave for dessert; supposed to be one of the best chocolate cakes ever.

HS - no, you're already eating at just about every TS place there. You don't need another meal there. If you're in the area, take the boat over to YC and have dinner at the Cape May clambake. Buffet, half seafood and half basic American food (ribs and such). Chocolcate Oreo bon-bons on the dessert table should do it for you.

AK - again, leave the park and go to the AKL. Have dinner at Boma. Non-character buffet, great food choices, and Zebra Domes (chocolate with alcohol!) for dessert.

I wanted to add one more thing.....

Tony's in MK is one of the worst meals we've ever had in disney. I couldnt even swallow their meatballs. So gross. Maybe i shouldnt have ordered anything with tomato sauce?....as i think this was the culprit. Chicken parm was awful as well. Note to self: order the steak! or anything without tomato sauce. Lol!
Everyone has a different opinion on whats good and whats not....the best thing for you to do is check out the menu's on allears.net and see for yourself what suits your family. ;) Happy planning! and have a great trip!

You have some great choices there. Because you don't have anything in AK, I'd suggest Tusker House, which my family likes a lot. They will make you take brownies with you when you leave. Or chocolate chip cookies, at least.

Eh. I really didn't like the steak, either.

i agree that coral reef is a good choice with a little one, the view will keep him busy enough to allow the adults to enjoy dinner lol.

the plaza is basic american food. they have some cute/fun dessert choices for kids. my granddaughter loved the milk and cookies just because the milk came in a child sized tea cup. the entrees have been consistently good imo.

are you set on eating inside a park? if not look at the menus for the resorts in/around the park you are at that day. there are a lot of good choices out there. ohana's is good if you like grilled meats, they also do a good job keeping kids entertained. the dinner shows can be fun with a mixed group as well. i find these particularly helpful if you have busy kids and tired adults lol.

I like all of your choices. Most of them are must dos for us. Two that we really like: San Angel Inn: the food is good if you like Mexican and you get to eat in perpetual twilight with an erupting volcano in the distance, Restaurant Marrakesh has really good food and the floor show if fun, they invite the little ones up to dance with the belly dancer. We were a group of 7 with some picky eaters and RM turned out to be one of everyone's favorite restaurants. I do agree that Coral Reef is also nice and the Wave is a good choc. desert.

And if you would decide to go to Boma, it is just a short bus ride from AK and the food is very good. We usually make a 5:00 ADR so that when we're done with the park, we're on our way to dinner.

Coral Reef has my favorite chocolate dessert........the Chocolate Wave....soooooo yummy. It is bitter tasting like dark chocolate and has alcohol and its warm and delicious

I would suggest either Chefs de France or Ohana. Ohana is fun for the kids, and is interactive as well. Food as always been good and it has a great atmosphere.

Thanks all! I think we will add Coral Reef or Chefs de France. If we choose Chef de France does everyone get to see Remy? My nephew (the 3 year old) is all about Cars- and has never seen Ratatouille, but I would love to see the little Remy!!!

Thanks everyone!

If you choose Chefs de France book it over the phone and ask the person making you reservation what time Remy will make appearances that day and then book at those times. He is only there at certain times

Keep in mind when making a reservation at Chefs de France that Remy only makes appearances there on Monday - Saturday (has Sundays off) and only during the afternoons. Here is his current appearance schedule:

12:30, 1:40, 2:50 & 5:20pm

That being said, my vote would be for Coral Reef. I really enjoy both the food and atmosphere there. :thumbsup2 It can be pretty noisy there though during the busier dining times, but then again our meals at Chefs de France have been far from quiet.
