Need Suggestions for 40th Anniversary

My wife and I first went to WDW in 1974 when the oldest of our 2 sons was 3. Since then we have been at least 20 times and we are now in the process of taking our grandkids. My question is: Does Disney World do anythingfree or comp anything for special celebrations? August 2009 is our 40th wedding anniversary and it would be great to have our sons, their wives, and all 8 grandchildren there together for the first time, but it seems the cost would be prohibitive. Does anyone know how to contact WDW HQ directly to find out if there is anything they will do? I don't want to appear to be a free-loader, I just think that a family with our "Disney history" might be of interest to them. Thanks for any help you can provide!

First of all, Welcome to the Dis! Disney has something called "Grand Gatherings" HERE is a link to their site with more info. Here is what it says:

A Grand Gathering is a group of 8 or more staying at select Walt Disney World® Resort Hotels. This means the more you gather, the more you can enjoy all kinds of special benefits, services and one-of-a-kind experiences we've created just for large parties like yours. We welcome kids of all ages, but only those age 3 and up are considered part of the guest count.

I would recommend signing up for the free trip planning DVD for starters.

I don't know of anything specifically that they will comp you or any freebies, so I can't help you there. I would recommend checking out www.mousesavers.com as well. We have found lots of money saving tips there!

Congratulations to you and your wife. 40 years is a wonderful accomplishment.

Now... as for the other stuff. I highly doubt Disney is going to cut you any special deals to help you offset the costs to celebrate there with your family. You might get a free dessert here and there but what you will get will not come even close to helping offset your costs. I suggest you look at all the available deals and possibly look into renting a house offsite to help keep down costs. Good luck.
