I am having a mother/daughter get together at my house (granddaughter - 8, daughter - 34, mother - 55 (that's me), grandmother - 76).:grouphug: I would like a craft project that does not require alot of time (maybe one or two hours at most) that we could all do. Any suggestions?

My daughter and granddaughter are coming out early that day and we will be going kayaking, then out to lunch at Subway (can you believe that's my granddaughter's favorite restaurant!?!?). My mother will be joining us later that afternoon, when I'm hoping we can do a craft together.

We'll then have dinner - I'm fixing baked chicken, and the other 3 must come up with something to go with dinner. My granddaughter is soooo excited about all this (she loves watching the cooking channel on TV!).

Anyway, after dinner I plan on having us play Disney Bingo:rotfl: , and have some "little, inexpensive" prizes for the winners. We'll probably also play many games of UNO (a favorite of both my mother and granddaughter).

We'll eat lots of ice cream (or maybe I'll make milkshakes in the blender instead!).:yay:

Everyone is spending the night at my house, and we'll all get up in the morning, fix breakfast together, and then they'll head home.

So, if anyone can come up with a craft for the four of us "ladies" to do, it would be much appreciated. I can find lots of "kid type crafts", but wanted something that would also appeal to us "more matured" ladies in the group.
Any ideas from you crafters out there??????:confused3

At something similar once, we made priority jars - fill a small canning jar with 10 walnuts (in the shell), then add 3/4 cup uncooked rice. - The story is that the walnuts are the important things in your life, and the rice is the stuff you're usually busy with. If you put the rice in first, the walnuts don't fit, but if you put the walnuts first, the rice just fills in around it. You can make pretty lids for them, and keep them on your desks or whatever, as reminders both of their message, and your special day together.

Also, bookmarks are easy and can be made/used by all ages. You can make them from card stock, ribbon with beads on the end, whatever. Even weave them.

Since I'm answering late, maybe salt-dough ornaments. (Because you probably have the ingredients on hand already.) I think it's equal parts of the flour, salt, and water, then a bit of food coloring. You can roll and cut them just like cookie dough - remember to poke a hole with a straw before you let them dry. You could call them a "Christmas in July" project.

Good luck, and have fun!!

How about each doing a page for a scrapbook of yourselves and your fun day together.

Appreciate the responses. We had a great time together!! Time went by soooo fast.:hourglass We never did get around to making any crafts - did get to play Disney Bingo though. Daughter, granddaughter and me spent Tuesday afternoon at JoAnn's buying up all their 50% off kids' crafts. Don't have to worry for a LONG time about what to do when grandkids are over!

The four of us had a wonderful time cooking dinner together. Was listening to the radio while cooking and a song came on (can't even remember which one now), but all four of us started doing the "happy feet" dance! What a hoot. I'm sure if the neighbors could have seen us, they would have wondered what the heck was going on!!!!!!!

My granddaughter kept saying "what a great party" when they were leaving and "when can we do this again".
