My in-laws will be visiting us for a couple of days during our stay in Orlando. My mother-in-law would like to go to AK with us. I know there is a character breakfast there, but are there any character lunches? If not, do you know if you can make a breakfast reservation before AK opens?

Also, they will definitely babysit for us one night so that DH and I can go out for dinner. :p My first inclination is to go to DD for a little happy hour, and then eat at PYC (we haven't been there in years). But, on the other hand, it might be fun to try something new. One year they babysat for us, and we had a wonderful dinner a Artist Point. That was nice because we got to take a look around WL. How about the restaurant at AKL? Any good? I've never been to City Walk either...sighhhhhhhh, so many choices, so few nights alone!

we have enjoyed 2 fabulous meals at jiko at AKL. i would suggest dining there since you have already been to my favorite--WL.:p

The character breakfast at AK is Donald's Breakfastosaurus - and it's fantastic! The food is very good - way too much to try it all! They don't have a character lunch though. But, we usually go on the Safari ride when the lines are low, and maybe a couple of more rides, then go to a late breakfast - around 10:30 or so.

For your dinner I would highly recommend Palio at the Swan! The atmosphere is very romantic - strolling musicians! And the food is wonderful! They also offer a 20% DC discount, if you have a card. After dinner, you can walk over to the Boardwalk and hit Dueling Pianos or Atlantic Dance Hall for a drink and dancing!

I would suggest RFC at AK. they are a little slow but the atmospher can't be beat. It is a great palce to have lunch. FYI they start serving lucnch at 10:00am here. Alot of people complain because you can't get breakfest after 10:00. I wish they would change that!

Thanks for the suggestions. I told my DH about Jiko, we looked it up, and he loved that idea. Is there a lounge where we could sit and watch the animals? Either indoor or outdoors?
