Well...after much planning I'm now some 3 weeks away from our next trip to WDW and I'm now into the "little details".

I have planned a Wishes cruise with DW, DD, DS and a few friends, which should end around 7:30pm. At that time I'm planning on sending the kids and our friends away for dinner while DW and myself go to have dinner on our own.

What would you recommend in the MK resorts area (not in the park or at WL, cause we are staying there) -- Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Poly -- for a nice romantic dinner? Watching the fireworks won't be an issue (will be done by then), although watching the water peageant around 9:30pm would be nice. I'm a steak kind of guy and my wife more than anything likes pasta and seafood...we both love dessert...

Any ideas?

I would recommend Citrico's in the Grand Floridian Resort or Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge. I think that you would enjoy either. :D

California Grill. Home run, I promise. Try to get your priority seating so you'll finish dinner right about when the fireworks start. Go out on the Onservation Deck, watch them over the MK, then return to your table and order dessert.

Hello Alvaro from Panama! Based on the three resorts you mentioned, I think that Narcoossee's (Grand Floridian), Citricos (Grand Floridian) or the California Grill (Contemporary Resort) would fit the bill for a romantic meal. California Grill and Narcoossee's can be kind of loud due to the acoustics, but they both have wonderful food. Citricos is a little bit quieter. Another close option is to take the boat from the MK to Wilderness Lodge and eat at Artist Point, which is a nice quiet restaurant, with good food. If you have not done so already, you can view the menus for these restaurants and others, at www.allearsnet.com (just follow the restaurants link). Hope your trip is magical and good luck with the half marathon!

My boyfriend and I had dinner at the Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary when we were there in September. It's probably not as romantic as Citrico's or California Grill but it was the best steak I'd ever had in my life. My boyfriend is a big steak eater. I like Steak but don't often order it, we both had the NY Strip Steak and it was absolutely wonderful. His sister was with us and she had the Sesame Seared Yellow Fin Tuna. I'd never tried seared tuna before and I fell in love. I'd definitly recommend the Concourse Steakhouse as an option!

Citricos and Narcoossee's at the GF are both great. Citricos is quieter but Narcoossee's has a fantastic view of the Electrical Water Parade. It may also fit your food preferences best.

California Grill has a beautiful view of the MK and offers great food and service too. Since you are going after Wishes, it may be more subdued by then. We like to request the "wine room" which is a smaller and thus quieter room.

I think the most romantic restaurant at WDW though is Victoria and Alberts.

California Grill sounds great...and to watch the fireworks from up there must be amazing, but our dinner will be after the fireworks...so I think we'll save this one for some other time.

Sunkissed, the Concourse steakhouse is in our MUST DO list for this coming trip...although we'll go there with the kids (they would not forgive us if we didn't take them).

I think we'll go with Narcoossee's. Looks nice, menu will please both of us and we'll have a view of the Electrical Water Pageant...

Of all the places, Narcoosees is my first pick. If on our next trip we have a dinner for us in that area that is where I would like to go. We had a wonderful meal there after the birth of our 2nd DD, and have been looking forward to going back since.

I've eaten at every restaurant mentioned above, and can comment on them all.

California Grill. While the food is excellent, srevice is generally great, and the view in wonderful, this is not a romantic restaurant. IMHO it's simply too loud to meet that criteria. Many families eat here, and especially later in the evening such as after the fireworks, they tend to drag along over tired kids and we all know what that means. I do love this restaurant, but it's not my first choice for romance.

Narcooses, again, great food and view, although the service has been so lacking in my experience (five or six visits in about 18 months) that I'm not sure I'll go back. Too bad. This restaurant is also loud and tends to get even more families with kids than the CG. Wouldn't be on my short list.

Artists Point. I had a "worst meal" and a really good meal there. Nice atmosphere. Generally quiet, some kids. The first time I ate there the food and service was so bad I swore I'd never eat there again. I did go back after dealing with Hurricane Frances I was too exhausted to leave WL and too frazzled to eat at WC, so we gave AP another shot. Glad we did, our food and service were both excellent. I'll eat there again sometime, although it's never going to be #1.

Victoria and Alberts. Romantic. Sublime. But not for everyone. We didn't have the greatest experience here. I don't eat pork, game meat, most fish, and most cuts of beef, and have a variety of food allergies. They weren't at all flexible with the menu for me, and our "Victoria" was very condescending towards my DH. Will we go back? maybe someday. But it was a lot of money to pay for a not so enjoyable meal.

Councourse Steakhouse, O Hana, Chef Mickey's, Kona Cafe, GF cafe, 1900 Park Fare. Some of theses are great restaurants, others are horrid, but NONE are romantic.

My choice would be Citrico. VERY romantic, generally few kids, quiet, sublime, ask for Aicha as a server and you can't go wrong. The food and service are wonderful, we've never had a bad meal or service there, I can't say that about any of the other's I've mentioned.

They are closed on Monday and Tuesday, so if your night falls on one of those, I'd probably choose the CG as my second choice and hope for the best.

one of the following:

California Grille
Narcoosee's

Both offer a great atmosphere, and delicious food. Not bad views either.

Appreciate all the input. Got PS for 8:30pm on a Friday night at Narcoossees'. Will send our children (14 & 11) to have dinner with our friends and after that we will drive to GF (don't want to have problems with transportation after dinner).
