Need strong coffee while at POR

So I do not want to rely on the in-room coffee maker. DH and I want strong (think Starbuck's coffee) for our mornings at the pool. How does the Riverside Mill dining court coffee stack up? Any suggestions as to what we could bring to use with the in-room coffee maker? TIA!

The resorts use Joffreys coffee. It's decent - certainly a step up from the old Nescafe. The room coffee makers use the cuisinart style pods ( not kcups).

Our housekeeper never left new pods, so we relied on the food court coffee. I was pleasantly surprised. It was very good. I usually start my day with Starbucks Pike Place or Verona blend.

I bring Vias when on the road, and I usually use less water than recommended

I also bring the Starbuck Via instant coffee tubes. Just vary the amount of hot water to taste. As POR has coffee makers in room, just run water through the machine to make it hot.

Joffreys coffee is just as "strong" as starbucks. And it's in the flat pods in the room and it's what is in the urn at the foodcourt. Joffreys is the unbranded espresso places that have been throughout the parks since before sbux came in and they are good IMO.

I agree- Joffrey’s is decent coffee. I drink it at home as well, and find it to be similar to what I brew from Starbucks.

I like New Orleans style Community coffee. I brought coffee pods from home to use in the in-room coffee makers.

If I could suggest a slightly different route that may work out for the long term as well: buy an Aeropress. They pack small, are easy to use, and are a very nice way to turn even mediocre ground coffee into something far less bitter. I've had an Aeropress for a while now, and it makes excellent coffee. I've kept it at work to give a quick pick me up and to make the the ground coffee at work almost tasty. I've packed it with me a few times on trips and have used the coffee makers in room to heat up the water. I bring my own coffee when possible or try to find a place where I can pick some up. The coffee comes out a little more concentrated than a normal pot, a lot closer to that of espresso. I highly recommend them for general coffee drinking, and especially for travel.

I'm a self-proclaimed coffee addict (I'm from Seattle), and I was satisfied with the Joffrey's coffee pods they provided in the room. Next to the tip envelope for the maid, I left a note that requested more coffee. I highly suggest purchasing your own creamer since the powdered stuff is vile (IMO), and buying or bringing your own sweetener if you don't use sugar (I prefer Truvia).
