We will be bringing 3 kiddos to WDW next summer. The oldest will be 4 so we are planning on strollers for everyone. We have our Graco double that we plan on bringing. I was thinking instead of bringing our Graco single, I would just buy an umbrella stroller. That way, I could fold it up while our 4 year old walks. I have heard great things about the MacClerans, but not sure if I want to spend that kind of money. Are there any other ones out there that you would recommend that has a sunshade (we are going in August) and will hold a 4 year old comfortably (she is tiny, but still want her to be comfortable) and will not break the bank?

Well they are not cheap, but I bought a Joovy (www.joovy.com) just for Disney because they have a fantastic sun shade (the best one I've seen yet), better than the MacClaren, it reclines nicely, folds great, is super lightweight, it comes complete with a rain cover and a complete change of fabric for the stroller and all fits in a nice case that is included. A second hood, seat and seat pad in black so that you can wash the color (they come in blue, pink and green) set and still use the stroller which has come in very handy for me. I have the single, but they have doubles and triples and sit and stands. The single retailed for $300 when I bought mine, but I went on ebay and found a joovy retailer there and got it for $150 and free shipping.

I bought a Perego P3 for my niece last year. It has a great sunshade on it, extendable handles, reclining seat and drink holders.

I bought mine from www.albeebaby.com

For a more affordable option that the pps, although not an umbrella stroller, we got our DS a Graco literider that we use exclusively for Disney trips. It's more of a full size light weight stroller; it has a nice big basket for storage, a shade, and it reclines all the way back. We got ours from amazon.com with FREE SHIPPING and we like it a lot- $60!

My daughter started complaining about 3 months ago that she couldn't get comfortable in her lighweight Chicco umbrella stroller (a basic Capri). She is almost 4 and weighs 29 lbs and is about 37 inches tall. I couldn't find anything either of us liked at the local ToysR Us or other stores and since we have a Graco Metrolite that we have no problems with for local travel using the bigger car, I didn't want to spend tons of money. I did a lot of online comparisons and was almost sold on the MacLaren Sport, but again, I didn't want to spend tons of money. I liked the Mia Moda Veloce for many reasons, likethe sunshade, cupholder and multiple reclinesyou don't often see at a reasonable price...but it was out of stock at ToysRUs.

I am one of those people who is not always comfortable buying something from someone on ebay or Craigslist or even an unknown retailer. I found it at several online retailers but couldn't get over the worry that if I bought it and it didn't work I might be stuck. Then I found it online at Wal-Mart. It was $99 with free shipping to the store. Even after taxes it was just $115. We've had it for just over a month and my daughter really likes it. Even my husband thinks it is a great stroller for the price.

I bought the mac volo last year and absolutely love it. I bought it for my 6 year old in Disney last year. He has heart issues and tires easy. Anyway, even with a 40 something pound child in it, it was easy to push. Well worth the money to me. I have 3 children and have had many strollers, from Gracos to Peg Perego's, big ones and little ones, and the Maclaren is by far my favorite.:thumbsup2

Thumbs up here for the Maclaren! I was not in a position to buy one new but checked my local Craig's List pretty regularly and just got a Daytripper for $15 -- and it looks like they normally retail for over $100!

We bought the Graco Ipo for our 4 year old for our June trip. It's a sturdier version of an umbrella stroller and is rated up to 50 pounds.
pros:
easy compact fold
accessible basket
doesn't tip over even when fully loaded (we added 3 after market cupholders and looped a soft cooler over the handles and it didn't tip over even when empty!)
less than $100 (we bought it online after test driving it at Target.)
cons:
suprisingly heavy
pushes like a dream at first, but after a week at Disney it was definitely work to push.
Honestly, if I could do it over I would have just rented the Disney stroller for him because when we rented one late in our trip for our 7 year old we couldn't believe how much easier it was to push! Also, with a 4 year old, you don't really need a stroller except inside the parks, so in retrospect I didn't think it was worth taking our own and having to haul it on the bus, monorail, etc. Good luck with whatever you choose!

We just got back and loved the Combi Flare that my 3 year old grand daughter used! Folded up easily, has a carry strap and only weighs 13 lbs. Maximum weight is 55 lbs. Paid $75 at Amazon.

The Baby Jogger City Mini is the best for Disney. We have rented from OSR twice now and it easily holds a 4 year old.

We just returned yesterday from Disney and I purchased a Peg Pergo for my 4 year old and loved it. I, too, did not want to spend that kind of money and began stalking craigslist. I was fortunate to find one minutes from my home is great condition that only cost me $75. A great savings compared to the price of a new one. The best part of this stroller is that it fits like a full size, but folds like an umbrella stroller. It is lightweight and was easy to manage on the buses.
Have a great time, whatever you choose.
Cris
