Need some tips!

Hi All you WISH'ers :D

I am in desperate need of some dieting tips and perhaps I should get involved in being a WISH'er as well!

A little background....I am 27, I have 2 girls and with my last daughter, I had a c-section which really did a number on my body :( Not only have I NOT lost any pregnancy weight in the past 2 years, I've actually gained 15 more pounds *cries* I am 5'3 and I weigh *cringes* 172 lbs. I would ideally just like to loose my c-section belly pooch and get back down to 130 lbs, hopefully before my trip in Dec to Disney, but in general, I'd just like to LOSE IT!

I just can't seem to find the time in my day to get out to the gym, or walk or ANYTHING! So ofcourse, while I am at home, I am eating my way through the fridge.....lol. I didn't think my weight had gotten THAT bad until I tried on some jeans this weekend and 5 out of the 6 pairs I tried on were too small :(

Any help, advice, tips....would be so appreciated!

Hi Holly,

Welcome to WISH! You can do it! I know you can! You sound very simliar to me. I am 5'2" and when I started Weight Watchers this year I weighed 178.4. I have had 2 C-sections, and I hate the scar and belly that I have. I have lost 17.6 pounds so far since 6/2/03 and feel great. I really think that coming to WISH and having other's to get you through those tough times is essential. First, I think you have to get a program, whether it be Weight Watchers, Atkins, South Beach etc.

I personally only get to walk once in a while, because I too am too busy. I work full time, and I have a Girl Scout troop and am an assistant coach for cheerleading. My son is starting football this year too, so it will be a double whamy for us. I vow that once cheerleading is over, I will try to find the time to exercise. In the meantime, I am still loosing. I guess that would mean that it's not essential to loose the weight, it just helps.

Jump in, grab a buddy and start loosing. It really is easy once you set your mind to it. It sounds like you are definately ready.

Hey Holly!!!

Great to see you here...You know I was 5 feet and weighed 205 pounds 2 yers ago. I have lost 82 pounds. It has not been easy, but most of it I did without exercise....Everyone has to really find the right diet for them. Read up on a few and decide which one you think you can most easily stick to. FOr me it was the Atkins diet, but believe me it is not the only one that works. People here have had great success on Weight Watchers, and even a diet of their own creation. Whatever works best for you.

You have taken the first step buy coming here...Wishing you good luck, and knowing you can do anything you put your mind to.

((((GLO)))) You are such an inspiration honey and you look just mahhhhvelous!

After some research, I've decided to give the Atkins Diet a go! I officially start Induction on Sunday.....had to give myself time to get rid of my junk food and do some grocery shopping :D I'm very excited and look forward to sharing my weight loss (HOPEFULLY!) with you all!

YAY, Holly! I am so glad to see you here and just thrilled to know that you are going to be part of my support group.

My husband and I also follow the Atkins nutritional plan and we love it. Lots of WISHers follow Atkins or some other controlled carbohydrate eating plan. If you have any questions about the program all you have to do is ask and you will receive receive speedy replies.

The WISH support group is just the best group of <i>losers</i> you could ever hope to meet and I'm so glad you will be here with us now.
