Next year is our 20th anniversary, and we've been talking about doing couples only in Jamaica for ages. Instead, we plan to surprise the kids with Disney....we've booked for may 2014 just the other day.

Original plan was to give them trip brochures for Christmas and tell them we are taking them on our anniversary trip, but that we're booking last minute to get a good deal.

But now were thinking the Disney surprise will be a better plan.

Ideally I'd like to send them on a scavenger hunt Christmas morning, ending with Disney tshirts in the dryer as the final clue. But I totally suck at rhymes and clue ideas!

The kids are older, so more complicated clues are a good thing! I was thinking one could be a photo of the port Orleans water tower....that wouldn't give it away at all as they aren't familiar with it.

Help please!

We did a treasure hunt with kids ages 11 and 8 that didn't require a lot of creativity. Each paper had a math problem for each kid and the answers corresponded to a code letter. For example, 8x4=____= E. And then of course a hint of where to look for the next clues.

When they got back to the kitchen, we had a code message for them to solve. They referred to their solved clues and filled in the blanks. Using the example above, if there was a line with 32 under it, then they would fill it in with "E".

The message was "Look at the November calendar" and after they solved it, they lifted up the page and saw "Disney World" written on our November dates. But you could just have the code message tell them that they are going too.
