I am searching for a week around the end of Oct. there is little to choose from right now, is it to early for them to be posting rentals for Oct.? Last year I think I won an auction for Oct. in Aug. I just don't want to wait around and lose out on finding a place around that time. :confused3

I think it is early. that say I generally wait until the last minute - nicer deals then.

however if you are flying or you have a long way to go. this method won't work for you.

Thanks spiceycat, I knew if you were online you would know something about skyauction, I have used it for the last two years, first staying at orbit one, which was very nice, small but nice, (I kinda like smaller resorts), and last year we stayed at silver lakes resort, it is big but it was very close to disney, and we loved the king size bed, I don't know what kind of mattress they have but you just melted when you went to bed at night, or maybe I was just wore out:rotfl: anyway I seen silver lake on there a couple weeks ago for the week we wanted but I didn't bid because I wasn't sure we could go, and now that I have an okay to go silver lake is gone, however orbit one is on there, but I kinda wanted silver lake, maybe it will pop up again since you said it is a bit early.:)

this is what RCI has for silver lake for Oct - now much they will release to skyauction your guess is as good as mind

you might also consider Cypress Pointe it is on the opposite side of WDW - closer to DD. but lots of people here seem to like it. It is pretty small too.

I stayed in Silver Lake last November thru Skyauction (got it Early in June 06). So this year I was also hoping to get it again for November. Nothing on skyauction in early June but finally in the middle I found something (I'm not one who can wait until the last minute, I'd just get too nervous). I settled on a 2 bedroom at Fairfield Cypress Palms. A little farther away than Silver Lake but it gets some great reviews on trip advisor. Seems like I never stay in the same place twice, but maybe that is good. I get to experience a lot of wonderful places that way.

spiceycat it seems my week is listed in the list that you posted, is this just a list of what they have open, and if no rci guest take them then they release them to skyauction? I have seen some post on cypress point, is that on 536 or 535 past downtown disney going away from interstate 4?

can't guaranteed it - but yes - lots of time if no RCI member wants it then it goes to skyauction - but when or if - I just don't understand the timing very well.

Cypress Pointe is where you think - here is its website
www.cypresspointe.net

It is a nice resort. You can actually to walk to several restuarants, winnie-dixie, a small mall from it.

now not great - but nice.

Silver Lake listed their late October inventory early this year. The two bedrooms were listed in May. Now only one bedrooms are left.

I've been checking for months and have seen no other decent place listed (although Cypress Palms did have a lot of two bedrooms a few months ago as well but I don't like the long drive).

Last year I got my October rental about two months out. I used to get good rentals a few weeks out, but this year, the inventory seems to be posted further ahead of time.

Have you ever bid on Airfare plus Orlando Hotel??

I live In ala - where SW is located. I see no point in having to drive to Atlanta and pay more per person than the flight from bhm to orlando would cost me on SW.

Also don't like them because if you don't have 4 people (might be 3) they will charge your a surcharge. that to me is down right unfair.

so no airlines on skyauction for me. if you live in an area where it is a good deal - good for one. but check your local prices first!!!!

Where I live flights to Orlando even on SW are never lower than $350.00 per person round trip. So Far I have Never even seen a Ding from my airport to Orlando!! Although what I would ever do with a 1 way ticket is beyond me??

so sorry. you buy two 1-way tickets. this latest allows me to fly for $59 each way (okay including all the fees comes out to $123 around trip)

which is cheaper than me driving to Orlando.

SkyAuction seems to have the most available inventory in the mornings, especially in their last minute category. I say book through a hotel and cancel within 24 hours before check in if something good comes up on SkyAuction

good luck

 :rotfl: :lmao: :cool1: :rotfl2: :dance3:
