Need some planning info..........

I'm looking at the first week of November (2-7) for our trip. I'm noticing that the prices are fairly high for a lot of the close hotels. Some are actually astronomical. Is there something going on at that time I'm not seeing?
I think this is the only time we can all go but I'd like to know what we're in for. Larger crowds require more planning.

I think that there is a Disney Race at that time. Also the local schools may be out

There's a race there Nov 10-13 that I found. Maybe it's just always busy there now. I still love it though.

I thought the majority of Dapper Day attendees at DL were locals that mostly just come for that weekend?

Oh I'm not sure. I've never been but thought it was pretty big from things I have read. I could be totally wrong.

Isn't the Christmas parade taping happening the 5th and 6th? I read that Dance the Magic has those dates listed for the taping, so lots of dance troupes and parents will need hotel rooms.
