We live in Arizona and I'd like to take the family as a surprise to DL the weekend of August 8-9. We'd drive on friday, spend sat and sun in the park and depart on monday.

I'm in the military, so I do have option of purchasing discounted tickets at an MWR office.

Since we are also booked on the Disney cruise, I'd like to do this on the cheap. What's the most cost-effective way to do this? Buy tix from the MWR office and book hotel separately? Book both together?

We previously booked thru Costco and stayed on Harbor drive.

Any thoughts?

if you can get cheaper tickets I'd do that...and some hotels will give a military discount so you may want to find which ones do so. That would probably help with your cost. :) Hope you have a great trip!

See if the HoJo has the Ent Rate available those nights, that will be the best/cheapest hotel you'll find. Buy discounted tickets and bring your own food.

HOJO was going to be my suggestion as well, but I just checked and those dates are not listed.

I say get your tickets a the MWR office and check to see who gives military discounts.

You should probably go with the Military discount tickets, as those will most likely be the best value.

As a previous poster stated, some hotels near the Park do have discounts for those in the service.

If you're a member of AAA, there are some GREAT deals on hotels if you book through their website! These rooms have to be paid in full before the trip, but the discounts are HUGE!

Have fun on your trip!!!
