My husband and I and our 2 kids did WDW last year with it being our 1st FAMILY WDW vacation and we stayed at the Grand Floridian. I had reservations for alot of character dining and my daughter for the BBB. We did 1900 Park Fare for breakfast with Alice in Wonderland and Pooh and then did the dinner with Cinderella. Both were AWESOME! We also ate at the castle for breakfast with all the princesses-AWESOME TOO! We did Chef Mickey's as well. Loved it too! All of them were just wonderful-no complaints. This is our 1st family trip to Disneyland and I'm starting to freak a bit, LOL on the planning aspect. My daughter is doing the BBB again but I'm just not sure on the planning for the character meals. What ones are not to miss?? We are staying at the Grand Californian. I've heard about Ariel's and Goofy's Kitchen and I would like to do both of them. Maybe just me and daughter for Ariel, but what others should we not miss??? We also had done the Pirate/Princes Party at WDW and we LOVED LOVED LOVED it. I know Disneyland doesn't have anything like that. I just don't want to miss out on anything on our trip to Disneyland so we can make great memories like we did at WDW. ***ALSO, does anyone know where you call for like surprises, etc at Disneyland??*** I had a Mouse Ears Gift Package waiting on my kids in our room upon arrival and strawberries and a chocolate Mickey for me and hubby and we did an adorable Mickey cake for our dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Please, any suggestions, guidance would be greatly appreciated-THANKS!

Definitely do Ariel's, after you've done BBB makeover. She will love that! And with the new menu the food is really really good! :) The other character meals I like are Minnie & Friends and Lilo & Stitch. I'm not a fan of Goofy's Kitchen personally but one of my best Dis buddies is. She loves it!!!! :) She knows who she is. :) lol

For in room surprises you want to contact Vacation Planning, I don't have the number handy as we normally stay off site. :)

Do you know who the Friends are at Minnie & Friends? We would LOVE the Lilo & Stitch one because both kids adore Stitch so that will be fun, plus we had missed the Lilo & Stitch breakfast at the Polynesian while on our visit to WDW because we traded it for breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Does anyone know what phone number you call for making dining reservations at DISNEYLAND? I need to start making ressies VERY soon-THANKS!

Minnie and Friends is our absolute favorite! The character interaction is fun, and the food is good. We also really love Lilo and Stitch. It is far less crowded than the other character meals, and Stitch loves to play with the kids much more than any other character I've seen!

We also have had mixed experiences with Goofy's. On Thanksgiving, it was nice, but on future trips, we were very disappointed.

We'll be trying Storytellers in September, but I'm sure someone else can chime in here.

Have a great time!

Last year we did Lilo and Stitch and enjoyed it. We are skipping it this year because we just aren't breakfast people so it doesn't make sense to spend that much money on breakfast food we won't eat. We also did Goofy's Kitchen dinner and weren't impressed. The food was ok, but nothing special. The cupcakes tasted like dirt, so that was really disappointing.

This year we are doing Minnie and Friends, which we did last year. I love that it is in the park, and that we can go at 10:30 and call it brunch instead of breakfast. There are SO many characters at that meal, too. Last year we saw Captain Hook, Pooh, the Fairy Godmother, and a bunch of others I can't recall. We are also doing Ariel's again, as that was good. We will try the Celebration Roundup BBQ (or whatever it is called) because my kids LOVE Toy Story. We haven't done Storytellers, because again we don't really do breakfast and I am under the impression that it is only a breakfast character meal. Maybe I am wrong?

Are you staying on site? If so, call the hotel and yes they do have gift packages available. Have a fun trip! :)

Oh boy, we saw so many characters at M & Fs! Gepetto, Gideon, Eeyore, Chip & Dale, Alice & the Mad Hatter, Cap't Hook and more that I can't remember...I'd have to look at the photos from that trip, it was last April so it's hard to remember that far back. LOL

Here is some info from VP I just received a couple of weeks ago for our trip ...
