Hey everyone,

DH and I are trying to come up with some other vacation spots we can go to over christmas that will be open and have activites we can do. I'm pregnant and due in march. We want to have one last christmas that we can enjoy just the two of us as every other christmas is going to be really done up for our baby. We are thinking of doing ceasars pocono resorts for one night, Christmas Eve into Christmas Day. Figure it will be a nice adults only place with some activites, good meals, and a room all for $300. We hope you can provide some more ideas of places we can go and what we can do there over christmas.

Have you been to Cape May? BEAUTIFUL at Christmas and great restaurants. be sure to go to the Washington Inn for a special night.

Do your homework researching Caesar's Pocono resorts ( read, read, read on sites like TripAdvisor, etc. ) - - jmho I think there are much better places to spend your $ If you're thinking Poconos I'd say Mt. Airy Resort is better choice or Woodloch Pines. Or Skytop Lodge(probably more than $300 but includes 3 meals per day). For NJ we love Cape May especially at holiday time -- we sometimes book a room in Atlantic City instead of Cape May & if we do we'll drive directly to Cape May early in the day, see the sight & have dinner there, then afterwards drive up to Atlantic City(it's approx 30 min away) and check-in at our hotel. For Dec. 24 Borgata for example is $129 per night. Have also heard some good things about Mountain Creek Resort in Northern NJ. Hershey at holiday time is fun too.

How about NYC ? bidding on Priceline a 4 star level hotel will probably get you best deal. It's a great time to visit with all the holiday sights - Rock Center, windows on 5th Avenue, St. Patrick's Cathedral, etc.

Best wishes on your planning & congrats on your baby-to-be :goodvibes

I checked on your options and they are not offering rooms for christmas. Mt airy has nothing to do but gamble we don't want to blow our money. We have done the pocono resorts a number of times and had a good time. I can't find anything to do in cape may for christmas eve or day. We have over done Atlantic City we go alot and we don't want to gamble. We though about hershey but they are not open or doing anything for the days we are planning for. New york is to far and crowded for we want a relaxing vacation. No big cities. Anyone have more ideas. all inclusive resorts would be great. :goodvibes

Have not stayed here but heard good things about Villa Roma Resort (upstate NY but not too far); it's all inclusive with exception being some activities that may have a small additional fee. Here's link http://www.villaroma.com/index.html Looks like Dec 24 can be as low as $249 ( unless I'm confusing details now because I'm skipping around to various sites, I think that was price for 2 adults not per person ) if you book online it's $25 off per room. We know some folks ( who I think have a good read on travel destinations ) who go there every year but of course check it out on travel review sites too.

Rocking Horse Ranch all inclusive, but haven't been there in years so I don't know how quality is, etc. now.

Woodloch Pines in Poconos is all inclusive too.

Good luck :)

Agree on Cape May -- it's lovely.

Lancaster, PA or New Hope? I've been in the fall, but not at Christmastime.

I don't know what part of NJ you are in, but the Hotel Hershey is beautiful at Christmas, and very adult oriented with a nice restaurant. Christmas Candylane at Hersheypark is open on weekends (and maybe other days) and is nice to walk around and see it all lit up while you drink hot chocolate. They also have a drive-thru lights display in Hershey as well. There is a new chocolate museum (I think is what they called it) that offers tastings of different hot chocolates and such. Plus the outlets at Hershey are right up the road if you want to hit the after Christmas sales.
