Need some info on how this all works..............

Hey "Neighbors" -

I need some info for AKL/Kidani Villas --- I keep bombarding my fellow neighbor and such a nice person - Lesley - with all my questions. She's a trooper to help me out...... but, thought I would just ask here - so anyone else who is a brand new owner could get these anwers too.................. I"ve searched and not really found ALL the answers in one place - AND I'm trying to get through our owners packet..............

Anyway - here goes..........

Housekeeping - I know it isn't daily - I understand it's on the 4th day - can someone completely go over how it works, what you get, when. How much extra days cost.

Towels - how/when do you get them -- if you need new one's? This is for those in a studio - who have no washer/dryer. (Sheets too)

Washer/Dryer for those in a studio - where is it? I do know it's free.

Check - in - is it at the regular check - in desk? or is there a dvc check - in. I know you can do it online as well.



I keep coming up with more and more questions as we plan our trip - I thought I'd done all of my homework on this................... LOL

Also, is there anything I've missed - that I should know before our trip????

Housekeeping--You get trash and towel service on Day 4. It's just what it sounds like. Mousekeeping comes in, takes out your trash, and gives you fresh towels. You then get a full cleaning on Day 7. You figure the days with Day 1 being check-in day. You can pay for extra towels and full cleanings, but I'm not sure on the price. Someone else may be able to help with that question.

The washers/dryers are free for DVC members and they are located around the pools. I haven't stayed at AKV yet; I will be there in October! I'm sure it's the same though--somewhere close to the pool.

I'm also assuming you check in at the regular desk. The only DVCs I've stayed in so far is SSR and HHI, which are exclusively DVC. I'm not certain about Jambo House. Again, hopefully someone else can help with that situation.

On the housekeeping: On stays less than 8 days, you will get a Trash and Towel day on the 4 day of your stay day 1 being the day you check-in.. A T&T day you get new towles and they take out the garbage.

On stays 8 and over, you get a full cleaning on day 4 and T&T on 8. Cycle continues every 4 days after that.

If you want towels between T&T days and full cleaning, you pay 6 dollars for an extra towel package.

Check-in is at Kidani, one desk.

Washing machines are located on the lobby floor by the library and arcade

Only ones I feel condifent of answering are the washer / dryer are usually close to the 'community hall' where other activities are done. And the check in is done at the regular front desk.

Housekeeping

Trash & Towel Service
For stays of seven or less nights, Trash & Towel Service is provided on day four, regardless of whether you're using Member-discounted cash, Vacation Points or a combination of both.

With Trash & Towel service, Housekeeping will:

Empty trash and replace liners in trash bins.
Provide fresh bathroom linens.
Replace shampoo, facial soap and bath soap.
Replenish facial tissues, paper towels and toilet paper.
Replenish coffee, sugar, cream and sweeteners.
Replenish dishwashing liquid, dishwashing detergent, sponges and laundry detergent as needed in one-, two- and three-bedroom Vacation Homes.

Full Cleaning Service
For stays of eight or more nights, Full Cleaning Service is provided on day four and Trash & Towel Service is provided on day eight. After that, the cycle begins again on day 12, regardless of whether you're using Member-discounted cash, Vacation Points or a combination of both.

With Full Cleaning service, Housekeeping will provide everything included with the Trash & Towel Service, plus:

Change the bed linens.
Vacuum and dust the Vacation Home.
Clean the bathroom(s).
Clean the kitchen/kitchenette and wash the dishes.

Pay As You Play
With Pay As You Play service, you'll be provided with the following amenities free of charge at the start of your stay. After that, you may purchase more for the following fees:

Toiletries Package, $5.00 - 1 facial soap, 1 bath soap, 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 shower gel
Coffee Package, $3.00 - 1 package of coffee, 8 sugars, 8 creamers, 8 artificial sweeteners
Towel Package, $6.00 - 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 4 washcloths, 1 bath mat
Laundry Detergent (only in One-, Two-, and Three-bedroom Vacation Homes), $1.00 - 1 box

Additional Full Cleaning Rates:
Studio/Inn Room - $30.00 per day requested
One-Bedroom - $45.00 per day requested
Two-Bedroom - $60.00 per day requested
Three-Bedroom - $75.00 per day requested


Additional Trash & Towel Rates:
Studio/Inn Room - $15.00 per day requested
One-Bedroom - $20.00 per day requested
Two-Bedroom - $25.00 per day requested
Three-Bedroom - $35.00 per day requested

Thanks for all the replies. I did go to the member website - but, I couldn't find that info that chalee94 posted. Where is it listed at? Again, today was actually the first day I've been able to access the website, I we just got our pin # today.
