Hi guys, a good friend of mine is going to WDW during the week of the 4th. I told her about the Wishes cruise and she wants to book one for the night of the 4th so they won't have to actually go into a park on that day, but would still be able to see fireworks. They want to eat dinner at Whispering Canyon, and then do the cruise. The projected hours say that the MK will be open until 1am that night, they can't stay up that late for the cruise if Wishes is really late, her IL's will be there as well as some young kids. Anyone been to WDW on the 4th and remember what time the fireworks were, and if the cruises are offered on holidays? Are they particularly hard to get on the 4th? :confused3

I was just there last year for the 4th of July. I never did a cruise, but you are definitely right on track about not gong into a park. They were jam packed, it was rough. Anyway, I believe the fireworks were around 9pm or 10pm. I haeard you can see them from other resorts, which is also another option. If I am ever there this time of year (which, after those crowds I don't want to be!) I would probably skip the fireworks. I guess they hyped them up too much, they were still good but nothing any more spectacular than any other WDW fireworks I've seen. Because of the crowds, you should definitely make those dinner PS ASAP!
