Need some help.

I just need some help with a question i have.

As the most of you know, my right eye is still not good at all.
At this point my sight with my right eye is just 5%.

We leave friday to WDW and i was wondering if there are some things that i can arrange with Disney??
This is what i mean by this: because of this bad vision i can only see things clear when it's upclose. Like for stageshows i can't see any faces and expressions when i'm to far from the stage.
Can i arrange with Disney that i can sit in the front row when i go see a stage show??

That kind of stuff.

Does anyone knows what the possibilities are for me??
And how i can arrange such things??

The posters on that board are very nice and always willing to help. I am sure someone there has had a similer experence has some tips for you!

I'd call DCL directly and let them know about your situation. I'm sure they could help you and make arrangements based on your plans.

I too just wanted to say sorry the vision has diminished so much in your eye Yvette. I hope Disney is able to accomodate you.

Hi Yvet

I'm sorry to hear that your having this issue with your eye.

I don't know if you remember me. We met at mousefest and I had mentioned that I am legally blind. I have about 10% vision in one eye and 9% in the other. All you have to do is go to Guest Relations in one of the 4 theme parks and tell them what you need and they will give you a Guest Assistance Card. I tell them that I need to sit up front at stage shows and theater type attractions. Your card will say that you need to sit up front at shows and or the front of ride vehicles if appicable. This is not a problem. You will definately need to get the Guest Assistance Card though. Anytime I have shown up at a show without one, the cast members would not accomodate me.

On DCL you will need to arrive a little before they start letting in for the show. Tell the host the issue and they should be able to take you a back way to avoid falling on the stairs down to the front row. We did this for my sister in December. There is also special viewing for the deck parties. Guest services can give you an information sheet. I look forward to meeting you. I will be using a walker since I retore my knee. I am even debating an electric scooter depends on the cost. I am in a CAT 12 and don't know where I would put it.

well I have always found if you ask the CM nicely they go out of their way to help out... you also might wanna show up too early for shows so it is easier to make it "down front"

With Nemo the musical... not sure sitting down front is best since other "stuff" goes on around you, but to see the stage close would be best. Beauty and the Beast assistance seating is right down front. Lion king assistance seating is right down front. Ariel in DHS the assistance seating is in the back, but let the CM know as you are entering you need to be seated for limited sight and they grab you a spot.

I was reading another DISers trip report and her husband got the GAC card due to his poor vision he is legally blind or something. I dont even think you actually need a note just go to guest relations and ask for one and explain why you need it. I think you should be able to get one without issue. Cant wait to meet up with you guys at the dolewhip meet.
